What a beautiful summer we had. It is like with each year passing, the Summers just got better and better. The beaches were always so nice and refreshing especially Singing, Hampton and Salisbury beach. We even had two cook outs at Leominister and Hopkinton State Parks. Our field trips were a blast as well, whether we did learned new things at the Museum of Science or the Discovery Museum . Or got creative and made some art at the Museum of Fine Art. There was never a dull moment this summer and we are so excited to put our thinking caps back on. School IS BACK!

LABOR DAY

Every day of the week, we create lesson plans according to our daily themes:

Movement/Mindfulness Monday: Activities to get the body moving, whether it's yoga and connecting with their minds, playing kickball, or a game of capture the flag.

STEAM Tuesday & Thursday: Science, math, technology, arts and crafts, oh my! These activities focus on creativity and building.

Service Learning Wednesday: Activities focused on giving back to our community, whether it's making a card for the elderly or picking up trash in our neighborhood!

Fun Friday: Activities based on all things fun! The activities range from cooking and baking to playing at the park.

Our Parent Meeting this month on September 9th

• Meetings are on the second Monday of the month unless stated otherwise.
• Parents are responsible for picking up their children at 5:30 pm, eating family dinner together in the community room, and signing them back in for childcare during the meet
• PIP Committee Monthly meeting will be on Monday, September 23rd, from 6:00- 7:30 pm at the Mystic Learning Center.

Looking for a high-quality one-on-one tutor for your child? Tufts University’s Leonard Carmichael Society (LCS) offers FREE, individualized tutoring for students ages K-12. Tutors are Tufts undergraduate students and sessions can be conducted on Tufts’ Medford/Somerville campus or online. Tutors are available to instruct lessons in a variety of subjects, including early reading skills, ELA, math, physics, biology, SAT/ACT prep and much more!

Referrals may be completed by individuals directly seeking services, parents or guardians, service providers, or community partners.

The services provided are available at no cost to Somerville residents of all ages and include:
