Fall Is In The Air
As we move toward Fall Break at the end of this week, I want to take a moment to celebrate the growth and hard work happening across our school. Our students and teachers have worked diligently throughout the first part of the year, and we are proud of the progress we are seeing. As we wrap up our benchmark assessments for students in grades 3-5, we will use the results to celebrate successes, identify areas for continued growth, and plan meaningful instruction moving forward. Thank you to our students, staff, and families for your continued partnership and commitment to making each day at Dodson a successful one. I hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved Fall Break!
Teacher and Support Staff Of The Year
We are thrilled to celebrate Brandi Hardin, our outstanding third-grade teacher, as Dodson Elementary’s Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Hardin exemplifies dedication, compassion, and a commitment to student success each and every day. Her passion for teaching and the positive impact she has on her students and colleagues make her truly deserving of this honor. Congratulations, Mrs. Hardin! We are so proud to have you on our Bulldog team!
We are excited to celebrate Lillian Younce, our Support Staff of the Year! Lillian, a dedicated classroom associate, wears many hats and consistently juggles a variety of tasks and assignments with flexibility, positivity, and a willingness to help wherever she is needed. Her dedication to our students and staff makes a tremendous difference each day. We are so grateful for all that Lillian does for our Dodson family and proud to recognize her with this well-deserved honor!
Awards Assemblies
We are excited to invite our families to join us for our upcoming Awards Assemblies! These special celebrations are an opportunity to recognize and celebrate our students for their hard work, positive choices, growth, and accomplishments during the first nine weeks of school. We love having our families join us to celebrate these important moments and cheer on our Bulldogs!

Safety Is Our Top Priority
The safety and security of our students and staff remain my highest priority. I want our families to know that I always take every concern involving the well-being of our school community seriously.
As principal, I have and always will be committed to following all Nashville Public Schools’ policies, procedures, and safety protocols when concerns arise and to working closely with district staff and the appropriate partners to help maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
I recognize the trust you place in us each day when you send your children to Dodson Elementary. Please know that we will continue to remain vigilant, responsive, and focused on providing a safe environment where every student can learn and thrive.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our school, Dodson Elementary.
