Upcoming Performances
WMU Pre-Festival Clinic Concerts
In preparation for our upcoming adjudicated performances at MSBOA Band & Orchestra Festival, Western Michigan University's School of Music has graciously invited our KPS secondary band and orchestra ensembles to travel to campus to perform and receive feedback in a clinic-style workshop. Students will perform their Festival music on stage in the Dalton Recital Hall, immediately followed by a clinic with WMU Music Professors. KPS is thankful to receive this unique invitation and the support of Western Michigan University's School of Music! Please see the schedule below of performance times.

MSBOA Band & Orchestra Festival
Our middle school and high school bands and orchestras will be performing at MSBOA Band & Orchestra Festival at the end of February and in early March at various sites in southwest Michigan. Ensembles perform 3 pieces of prepared concert music, as well as sight-reading a new piece of music, in front of adjudicators for feedback and a rating. All performances are open to the public - friends and families are encouraged to attend and support our students!

MSVMA Choral Festival
Kalamazoo Public Schools is excited to host District XI MSVMA Choral Festival this year! Over 50 middle school and high school choirs from the great Kalamazoo and Battle Creek area will perform at Chenery for adjudication through the day and evening on Wednesday, February 26th and Thursday, February 27th. Our district music department strives to be leaders in the music education field. Hosting Choral Festival at Chenery Auditorium elevates this event for public school music programs in our schools and neighboring districts.

KAMTA Chamber Music Festival
Maple Street Orchestra members performed at the Kalamazoo Area Music Teachers' Association Chamber Music Festival held at Western Michigan University on Saturday, January 18th.
Students prepared weekly during class with Carol Corey and Dr. Tina Gorter, through the generous support of Education For the Arts and Fontana Chamber Arts.
