Mr. Macken's Message
Centerville Families,
As we wrap up another school year, I want to thank you for the many ways you have supported your children, our staff, and our school community. From conferences and concerts to communication sheets, spirit days, and the occasional forgotten lunch, your partnership has meant so much.
This year was filled with growth, learning, laughter, plenty of recess, and probably a few missing water bottles along the way. Through it all, our students worked hard, built friendships, and grew in ways that are both measurable and magical. We are so proud of them.
To our fifth-grade families, thank you for sharing your children with us. We will miss their leadership and personality, but we are excited to see all they will accomplish in middle school and beyond. Once a Centerville Cougar, always a Cougar.
As summer begins, we hope your family enjoys a healthy mix of books, bike rides, sunshine, and ice cream. Especially ice cream. And if your child says they are bored by day three, you are probably doing summer exactly right. 馃檪
I hope to see many of you at the Centerville Parade on Saturday, July 19. We always love connecting with our families and showing off our Centerville pride.
Wishing you a summer filled with fun, rest, and great memories. We cannot wait to welcome you back in the fall!
Go Cougars!
Mike Macken

Shaping the future of our schools
Maintaining strong schools requires both high-quality learning experiences and safe, well-functioning facilities for every learning. The Centennial School Board voted unanimously at its May 18 meeting to place two referendum questions on the November 3, 2026 ballot. An operating levy will help maintain class sizes, sustain academic programs, support students through services, retain staff and maintain day-to-day operations. A bond for capital projects provides funding for our schools for safety and security improvements, maintenance of aging infrastructure, improved cafeteria experiences, updates to learning environments, space, and capacity needs.
Why now? Centennial Forward reflects years of planning and facility assessments, community input and survey feedback, identified priorities鈥攏ot a wish list. Learn more, view tax impact, and get voting information at isd12.org/centennial-forward.
SUN Bucks: Summer food program
Families who were approved for educational benefits for the 2025-2026 school year may receive $120 for each eligible school-aged child, ages 7-17, to buy groceries when school is out this summer through SUN Bucks, a program offered by the United States Department of Agriculture.
Note: All students are not automatically eligible because of the free meal program offered at Centennial Schools. Students must quality for SUN Bucks through the Educational Benefits Application process. Already approved households do not need to re-apply to receive SUN Bucks. Students directly certified through programs such as SNAP, MFIP, FDPIR, and other programs automatically qualify for SUN Bucks. See the Centennial Website for SUN Bucks information as well as other summer food programs.
