👋 Hello Bobcat Families,

Spring forward! We lost an hour this weekend, which is always tough! This morning called for an extra cup of coffee! ☕🤎 I hope you all got to sleep in a little bit. 😴

It was so much fun to see the kids get excited this last Friday, as I dressed in a dinosaur costume to ROAR at the assembly! Students got to choose that prize because they improved the amount of tardies overall for our school in the month of February. Way to go and keep it up Bobcats! Just remember 8 is late!

Our English Learner students will begin testing for ELPAC this week. Please be sure to have your students get a good night of sleep, and be sure they get a healthy breakfast to set them up for success. For more information about ELPAC, see the ELPAC website at https://www.caaspp-elpac.org/about.

Our newly renovated awning is back in action, and we will be going back to using the 3-5 Gate at the top of the front office parking lot starting Monday. Thank you for your flexibility and for following all of our safety protocols and signage in the parking lot!

We had a special visitor this week at our ELAC meeting. Ms. Katy Maskiewicz taught us all about Reclassification. This year, we had 10 students reclassify! Great job, Bobcats! 🥳🎉👏

Our school is proud to partner with the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge service-learning program, which had our school kick-off assembly this week! Students will learn how to have happy and healthy hearts while raising lifesaving donations to help others with special hearts. Plus, your family can learn the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR through Finn’s Mission! This week our ReDesign Team will be observing Dens at Conway Elementary to get ideas on how we can incorporate multi-age learning communities into our school. Pictures to come!

Crazy Sock Day, Animal Print Day, Book Character Day, Rainbow Colors Day, PJ Day...it was a fun, busy week as our Bobcats got into the Read Across America Spirit! What books did you read with your kiddo this week? It's not too late!

Students are having fun while learning in our school classes! From art to rugby to dance, our Bobcats are on the move! Here are some pictures from this week!

We are still holding running club Mondays and Wednesdays, every day it isn't raining. Our total miles for the school are 373 miles! Way to go Bobcats!

Why Attendance Should Be a Top Priority:

1. Academic Achievement: Regular attendance is fundamental to student success. Each school day is a building block in the learning process. Consistent attendance helps students keep up with coursework, understand key concepts, and perform better academically.

2. Social and Emotional Development: School is a place where students develop crucial social skills and emotional resilience. Frequent absences can hinder their ability to form strong relationships with peers and teachers, impacting their overall development.

3. Future Opportunities: Consistent attendance is linked to higher graduation rates and better long-term outcomes, including higher education and career prospects. By prioritizing attendance, we are directly contributing to students' future success.

Congrats to Mr. Illich and Ms. Roberts for having the best attendance for February! However, when there is a tie, the tie breaker goes to the class with the least amount of tardies and the winner is....Ms. Roberts' class! Woo hoo!

This month, we will continue to focus on improving attendance. Every day counts!

Every day Counts and we love to see you and your children at school every day! I hope you have seen our Student Council and Felicita Cheer Squad greeting you in the morning. If you haven't, we want to let you know we will be out next week at the TK/K gate on Monday, the 1/2 Gate on Tuesday and the Main Gate on Wednesday (as long as there is no rain!). We will be out again in April on 4/24 at the Main Gate, 4/30 at the 1/2 Gate and May 1 at the TK/K Gate. When you see us, give us a wave!
