On October 14, 2026 we will be running an altered schedule so that all 10th and 11th graders can take the PSAT exam and so that we can celebrate the last day of Hispanic Heritage Month.

  • The first half of the school day will include schoolwide testing for all 10th and 11th graders.
  • 9th graders will be participating in a specialized activity periods 1-3.
  • There are no scheduled activities for 12th graders. Seniors may use the day to work on college applications, shadow a community member at work, visit a college, or catch up on assignments. If your senior is not in attendance on October 15th, please send a note on Thursday to the attendance secretary.

  • The only classes that will run on PSAT Day are period 4 and period 6.

  • We will have a special Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration assembly in the afternoon. All students will have the opportunity to attend.

Important Information:

  1. All students must arrive by 7:50 am. Late students will not be permitted to test, and there will be no make ups for late arrivals.

  2. ARL students who are taking the PSAT will be excused from ARL on Wednesday.

  3. The test is digital- it is taken on the Chromebook. No other devices can be used. Students must bring their assigned, fully charged, Chromebook with them on test day. We do not have extra Chromebooks to lend except if there is a major tech malfunction during an exam.

  4. There will be no makeup date for the PSAT.
  5. All students taking the test must have completed the "digital readiness test" using their testing tickets before Tuesday afternoon. If you have not done that yet, please make sure to stop by the media center and see Ms. Balchunas by lunchtime on Tuesday.
  6. Make sure to get a good night's sleep and eat a hearty breakfast.

There are only a few things you really need to bring on test day, and a lot of things you'll be better off leaving at home. Be sure to bring:

  • Your fully charged device.
  • A power cord and/or a portable charger. We cannot guarantee you’ll have access to an outlet during testing. Your device should be able to hold a charge for 3–4 hours.
  • A pencil or pen.
  • Scratch paper will be provided—do not bring your own.
  • An approved calculator. There’s a graphing calculator built into the app, but you can bring your own if you like.
  • An external mouse if you use one.
