Dear Rock Creek Families,

I hope you've had a wonderful summer filled with fun, relaxation, and quality time together. As we prepare to begin another exciting school year, I want to welcome back our returning families and give a heartfelt greeting to those joining who are new to our school. We are thrilled to partner with you for another year of learning and growth.

Our theme for the 2026-2027 school year is "Don't Stop Bee-lieving!" This theme is a reminder to our students—and to all of us—that growth comes through perseverance. We want our students to believe in themselves, embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and never give up when things become difficult. By working together and encouraging one another, we know this will be a year full of meaningful learning and accomplishments.

We are also excited to welcome several new staff members to our Rock Creek family. These outstanding educators bring enthusiasm, experience, and a passion for helping students succeed.

  • Mrs. Campos – Kindergarten Teacher
  • Mrs. Greenlee – 2nd Grade Teacher
  • Mr. Glasheen – 4th Grade Teacher
  • Mrs. George – 5th Grade Teacher
  • Miss Franco – ERC Teacher
  • Ms. White – ERC Teacher

In accordance with a new Idaho state law, we will implement a new 60-second moment of silence at the start of each school day. During this quiet minute, teachers will not provide instruction or guidance regarding how students should use the time. We encourage families to have conversations at home about how you would like your child to use this moment as they prepare for the school day.

As we begin the year, please take a few moments to review the Student Handbook with your child. It contains important information about school procedures, expectations, and policies that help us maintain a positive learning environment for everyone.

Thank you for being an important part of the Rock Creek community. Together, let's make this a year of growth, perseverance, and success.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Lisa Gebbie

Principal

We have nearly 600 students at our school, and safety is our highest priority. Please take a moment to carefully review the pick-up and drop-off guidelines designed to keep both students and staff safe.

To ensure the safety of all students and keep traffic flowing smoothly, please follow these important procedures:

  • Pull forward as far as possible in the drop-off/pick-up lane. If a staff member signals you to move forward, please follow their direction.

  • Always use the crosswalk for your safety and to model safe behavior for students.

  • Do not let students exit from the left lane. This is unsafe.

  • The side parking lot and bus lane are for buses only. Do not use this area for drop-off or pick-up.

  • Be respectful and courteous to others during busy times. Our children are watching!

  • Only park in handicap spaces if you have a valid permit. These spaces are reserved for those who truly need them.

  • Never leave your vehicle unattended in the drop-off lane.

  • Parents must remain outside the gate. You're welcome to wait behind the fence and observe, but please do not enter the playground.

  • If someone else is dropping off or picking up your child, please share these procedures with them.

Thank you for your cooperation! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to the school administration. For more details on our Pick-up/Drop-Off Procedures CLICK HERE.

Keeping Our School Safe

Our thoughts continue to be with those affected by the recent tragedy in our community. We understand that events like this can bring added concern, and we want families to know that student and staff safety at Rock Creek and throughout the TFSD remains our highest priority.

Families may notice an increased law enforcement presence near schools as the year begins. This is intended to provide additional reassurance and support. You can help by reporting concerning behavior immediately, avoid sharing unverified information or rumors on social media, and encourage your children to speak with a trusted adult if they see or hear something concerning.

Counselors and support staff are also available for students who may need additional support as they return to school. Thank you for helping keep Rock Creek safe and welcoming.

Air Quality & Outdoor Activities- TFSD Policy 3507

With the start of school and changing air quality due to fires, we want families to be aware of our policy. The district monitors local DEQ air quality levels and adjusts outdoor activities (recess) as needed to keep students and staff safe.

  • AQI 51–100: Outdoor activities may continue, with extra attention to sensitive students.
  • AQI 101–150: Outdoor activities may continue with additional rest breaks and close monitoring.
  • AQI Above 150: Students and staff will remain indoors, and outdoor activities (recess) will be canceled, postponed, or moved indoors.

School Hours

Monday (early release): 8:00AM to 2:00PM

Tuesday - Friday: 8:00AM to 3:00PM

Breakfast opens at 7:35 AM daily and supervision on the playground begins at 7:35 AM.

The safety of our students is very important to us, please do not drop students off at school before 7:35 AM and be timely picking them up at the end of the day.

Academic Achievement: Attending school regularly ensures that your child has the opportunity to engage fully in classroom learning activities, participate in discussions, and benefit from teacher guidance. Research consistently shows that students who attend school regularly perform better academically than those who are frequently absent.

Punctuality Matters! Being frequently late for school adds up to lost learning.

  • Arriving 5 minutes late every day adds up to over 3 days lost each year.
  • Arriving 15 minutes late every day adds up to 2 weeks absence a year.
  • Arriving 30 minutes late every adds up to 19 days absence a year.

📆Every Day Counts!

It’s easy for a missed day here or there to add up! Print this attendance tracker 👇 and put it somewhere your family will see it, like the refrigerator. Each time your child misses school, mark the day on the tracker. It’s a simple way to keep an eye on attendance throughout the year and make sure your child stays on track for success!

Be Here. Belong Here. Achieve Here. Your child’s presence makes a difference!

We 💚 Volunteers!

We love and value our parent volunteers! Your support plays an important role in making Rock Creek a welcoming and successful place for students. At this time, parent volunteers are welcome in the building and on school property, but please remember to check in at the front office upon arrival.

All parents who wish to volunteer or chaperone field trips must complete a background check at least two weeks before the event.
