PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
Midterms and Holiday Wishes
Dear Franklin Families,
As we enter the final stretch of Semester 1, I want to take a moment to recognize the hard work our high school students have put into their classes. Midterms are just around the corner, and this is an important opportunity for students to demonstrate what they’ve learned, reflect on their progress, and finish the semester with confidence.
We encourage all students to use these next days wisely—review notes, complete assignments, ask questions, and take advantage of any support their teachers provide. Success on midterms is not just about memorizing information; it’s about building strong study habits that will serve them well throughout high school and beyond. We believe in their ability, and we are proud of the effort they continue to show. We wish every student the very best as they work to finish Semester 1 strong.
As we prepare for the upcoming winter break, I also want to extend warm holiday wishes to all our Franklin families. This season offers a special opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy time with loved ones. I hope your days are filled with rest, joy, and meaningful moments.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in January, ready to begin a successful and inspiring second semester.
Warm regards,
💙 Principal Sergio Delgado

IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Dismissal Updates
Franklin Families,
I hope you’re all doing well! I wanted to send a few reminders about our K–8th carline procedures (3:30–4:00 p.m.) to ensure dismissal remains safe and efficient for everyone.
Please remember there is no parking on either side of 207th Avenue prior to the K–8th dismissal. Pines PD has informed us that they will be issuing tickets for violations.
Please also make sure your DashPass is ready and working properly. As a reminder, DashPass is the only system used to queue and release students. Students should not walk to cars in the parking lot or to a parked car during active carline, as this poses a major safety concern.
We have three lanes for pick-up:
- The North lane (closest to the building) is for K–5th students or K-5th students with a K-5th siblings only. Please ensure your placard is displayed on the passenger-side dashboard so staff can easily see it and assist quickly.
- The two South lanes are for all middle school students and middle or high school students with a K–5th sibling.
Students should remain on the correct side of the carline to avoid crossing back and forth.
We’ve noticed—and have received reports—that some families have been using the K–5th lane all the way to the end before merging into the South lanes. This not only creates a safety hazard but also delays the flow of traffic for families waiting in the proper lane. To address this, we have added cones and dividers at the turn into the South lanes to prevent lane changes and ensure the process runs smoothly. While we can’t cone off and divide the entire parking lot, we ask for your continued support in staying in the correct lane and avoiding merging at any point during carline.
We take great pride in maintaining a safe and efficient carline, and your cooperation helps us continue to provide the best experience for all families and students.
Thank you for your attention to these reminders and for helping us keep dismissal safe and orderly!
Reminder: Early Dismissal Policy
Until 1:55 PM
Dear Franklin 'Ohana,
This is a friendly reminder that early dismissal for students is permitted every school day only until 1:55 PM. After this time, we cannot accommodate early sign-outs, as our staff and students are transitioning into dismissal procedures for the day.
We ask that you plan accordingly if your child has an appointment or needs to leave school early. Dismissing students after 1:55 PM creates disruptions to the end-of-day routines and compromises the safety and efficiency of our dismissal process.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and orderly school environment.
No Re-Entry
Franklin Families,
We want to keep everyone informed, as safety remains our top priority. Recently, we’ve noticed several high school students exiting through the single-point entry or bus loop during dismissal and then attempting to re-enter campus for activities such as practice, committee meetings, tutoring, or Sibling Link.
Please note that once a student exits through the gate, re-entry is not permitted for safety reasons. Any student who opens the gate for others or attempts to re-enter will face disciplinary consequences.
We strongly encourage our high school students to plan ahead each day and be mindful of their schedules to ensure they remain on campus if they have after-school commitments.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and secure campus for everyone.

Raptor/Service Hours
At this time all service hours have been added to PowerSchool. We recommend to check PowerSchool to ensure your hours are accurately recorded. If you do not see an accurate total, please check your Raptor Account(s), you can identify which you are missing and email Mr. Carnaggie @ Carnaggie.Christopher@franklin-academy.org. who can best support.
As agreed to by all Parents/Guardians and defined in the Parent School Contract, Franklin Academy families must complete service hours each academic year. Franklin Academy’s family service hour agreement states that Franklin families will be required to perform eight (8) hours of service for the academic year regardless of the number of students enrolled.
Families are required to complete 8 hours by June 30th, we highly recommend completing them as soon as possible.
Currently we are at ________ completion rate. Our goal is for 100 percent of our families to complete their required hours and ensure no student loses their seat for the next school year.
