BPBF H.E.A.R. Scholarship

The BPBF H.E.A.R. Scholarship (Helping support Equitable Access and Representation) promotes equitable access and representation to music education and enrichment activities for groups including but not limited to Black/African American, Latinx, Native North American, Asian/Pacific Islander, and LGBTQIA+ students. Students are eligible to be awarded with the BPBF H.E.A.R Scholarship no more than once per school year.

This $300 scholarship is awarded to one or more band student(s) in grades 7, 8, 9, 10, or

11 who is a current member of the Sun Prairie Band program, and participated in school

and/or community clubs and organizations.

Scholarships are disbursed as a subsidy payment to assist with private lessons in the

lesson academy program, and/or a payment for band camp or activity that is recommended

by your band director.

How to apply:

● Collect two letters of recommendation (as electronic pdf files), one from a band

director and another from an adult who is not related to you

● Complete and submit the online scholarship application by Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025.

Marcia Berman Percussion Scholarship

The Marcia Berman Percussion Scholarship is a $300 scholarship awarded to one or more student(s) in grades 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12 who is a current Sun Prairie Bands percussion student and has participated in school and/or community clubs and organizations. Scholarships are disbursed as payment for private percussion lessons during the current school year, and/or payment for percussion summer camps.

How to apply:

● Collect one letter of recommendation (as an electronic pdf file), which needs to be

written by a current teacher in the Sun Prairie School District

● Complete and submit the online scholarship application by Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025.

Big Band Dance is Right Around the Corner

When: December 6th, 7:30 PM

Where: Angell Park Pavilion

Tickets are $10 and will available at the door

Alumni can register to play with the alumni big band here

Please join all of the high school jazz bands and our alumni jazz band at our annual Big Band Dance. Strap on your dancing shoes and enjoy an evening of dance standards. It is a great evening of music and friendships!
