Principal Update 4/7/25
Good Morning Memorial Families,
We have a lot of upcoming events in the months of May and June, and I hope that you will take an opportunity to find a time to be a part of them, whether that be through chaperoning a field trip, visiting a showcase of learning, or volunteering for our upcoming Book Fair and Field Day. Many hands makes for light work, and I know that our teachers and our PTO are happy to have your support in whatever capacity that you are capable in the coming months. If you need more information on any upcoming event or ways to volunteer and you are unable to locate the information on your own, do not hesitate to reach out to me so that I can steer you in the right direction.
Tardiness: We are seeing an uptick in the number of children who are arriving at school after we have finished arrival procedure. I just want to remind everyone that instruction begins at 9:00am, and when your child arrives right at 9, or anytime after, he/she will not be in class, ready to learn until many minutes after that. In fact, once a week, your child's class goes to a special at 9:00am, and so being late means that they need to head to their classroom, unpack, and then go find their class in special, which can take many minutes. Everyone has tough mornings, and we completely understand that. However, persistent tardies can impact your child, so please do your best to arrive on campus with enough time before 9:00 that he/she is able to get to class and be ready to learn by 9:00am. We appreciate your help with this.
Parent Survey: Thank you to everyone who has completed the parent survey from our School Council. We truly appreciate your feedback and we will be using it to begin designing our next School Improvement Plan for 2025-2026. If you have not yet had an opportunity to complete it and would like to, please click here. Your input matters!
Class Placement: If you have anything pertinent to share with our staff as we begin to think about class placement for next year, please use this form. Do not send an email directly to the teacher or to myself, as we try to compile everything into one place for easy access when we are developing our class lists.
Have a terrific week!
Warmly,
Wendy
