Lutherville Lab Report
What's gone down & what's coming up at the leopards' lair.
March 24, 2023
We had a full week at Lutherville Lab! This week our second graders enjoyed a field trip to Goucher College to see a theater production, were excellent audience members, and got a shout-out! Our third graders are in the midst of Safe Racer and enjoying testing their engineering. Fifth grade students worked hard on their Science state testing and we're proud of their efforts. A Team of our teachers were one of three from all of Baltimore County to be invited to a workshop in Fairfax, and we hosted math teachers from across the County after school on Thursday for a math PD.
I want to highlight a great project that a Dulaney High School intern who worked in Mrs. McGee's class this year, Erin Patterson, completed with students to celebrate kindness week. If you need a dose of adorable -- click here.
A reminder that Lutherville Lab's phone number has changed! The phone number for school changed to 443-809-7800 last fall when our phone systems were upgraded. The old phone number has been forwarding to us, but that is set to end on March 31st. If you have not already updated the number for the school in your contacts -- please do so!
Next week is the last before Spring Break. We're excited for 5th graders to enjoy ballroom dancing next week. A reminder that on Monday (or when weather allows), we will be completing a safety drill (see email from 3.23) and each class will be putting the finishing touches on one of the 21 new trees planted at Lutherville on Thursday. A big shout out to Dan Reagle who helped spur the County to plant the trees after we had a number taken down over the last few years due to disease. We're excited for the students to feel ownership and connection with nature through the trees on campus.
We're going to give the hard-working writing staff of the Lab Report the Friday off so that they (it's me) can get started on their break. The Lab Report will return April 14th.
There is a lot to look forward to after Spring Break. An initial calendar of spring event is attached to help your family with planning!
Enjoy the weekend, Leopard families!
-Mr. McComb
