Happy Native American Heritage Month 2026!

Colcord Public Schools (CPS) is a small, rural district in northeastern Oklahoma, located in the Cherokee Nation. CPS is committed to serving our Native American students appropriately and equitably. The district is proud of the services provided to our Native American student population, which is primarily Cherokee.

The CPS Native American Programs encourages our community to celebrate Native American Heritage Month by learning about the Cherokee people or another federally recognized tribe. Below are some resources for learning more about indigenous peoples!
