Dear Rose City Park Families,

Thank you to all the families who joined us for our Coffee Chat on Tuesday. Your presence, thoughtful conversations, and genuine care for our school mean so much, especially as we navigate this time of uncertainty together. I am incredibly proud to be part of such a strong, compassionate, and connected community. Our strength has always been in the relationships we have built and our shared commitment to our students. Thank you for continuing to show up for one another and for our Otters!

Even as we navigate this difficult and uncertain time, one thing remains unchanged: our commitment to our students and their learning. Every day, our Otters walk through our doors counting on us to provide a safe, caring, and engaging learning environment where they can grow and thrive.

While we recognize the emotions and challenges that come with the proposed changes to our school, we remain focused on what matters most: providing high-quality instruction, supporting every student's academic and social-emotional growth. Our dedicated educators continue to show up each day with care, purpose, and a commitment to helping students succeed. We will continue to strengthen our instructional practices, celebrate student progress, and work together to meet the needs of every learner.

As we remain focused on teaching and learning, it is equally important that we continue to partner with families in understanding and celebrating our students' academic growth. One way we can do this is by sharing information about how students are progressing in reading and mathematics. Our recent i-Ready assessments provide valuable insights into each student's strengths and areas for growth, helping both educators and families better support their learning.

We are pleased to share that families can now access their child's i-Ready assessment results. Below are instructions on how to view these reports and learn more about your child's progress.

How to Access Your Student's i-Ready Assessment Results:

In compliance with the new Oregon Education Accountability Act (House Bill 141), all PPS students in grades K-8 took i-Ready Inform assessments this fall and will complete these assessments again in the winter and spring benchmark windows.

You can access the “For Families” report to view your student’s i-Ready Inform™* reading and mathematics assessment results through the i-Ready student dashboard once your student completes the assessment.

  1. Log in to your student’s i-Ready account through the PPS myPPS portal (Classlink). (Sign-in help linked here)

    1. Open a browser window and go to launchpad.classlink.com/ppsor.

    2. Use your student’s username and password to sign in.

    3. Click the i-Ready icon.

  2. In i-Ready, select the Subject (Reading, Lectura, and Math) tab.

  3. Click on the For Families dropdown and select the For Families report.

  4. Select a language for the report.

  5. Enter the PPS district report code: 83L424.

For additional i-Ready information, please visit the PPS Family Assessment Resources page or click here for a guide to understanding the i-Ready Family Report. (available to download in multiple languages).

Additionally, similar to MAP Growth scores in years past, students' test score values will be available by subject in ParentVue in the Test History tile soon after the testing window closes.

Remember, tomorrow there is no school. I hope you have a restful three-day weekend with your students and families!

For more important school news and information, please read below.

Thank you again for your continued partnership and support of your student’s learning.

09/29/2026 Meeting Agenda and Minutes

Next Meeting: November 3, 2026 - 3:45-5:15pm

Please fill out the Village Table Community Check-In Survey

Village Table - Request for Community Input

Our school is represented by your parent Site Council Chairs (Olivia Webster & Britt Appleton) at the PPS Village Table, a districtwide space that brings together family representatives from schools across Portland. The next meeting is coming up next week and we want to offer the community an extra opportunity to have your voices represented in this district space.

As your Village Table representatives, our role is to listen, ask questions and bring our school community's perspectives back into the conversation. I encourage you to share your questions, concerns and perspectives with me and to participate in upcoming opportunities to provide feedback.

Please take a few minutes to complete our Community Check-In Survey.

Additionally, if you'd rather chat in person, Britt and Olivia will be available after drop off on Tuesday 10/13 and Wednesday 10/14 at the picnic table in the garden. Come and share perspectives you'd like us to bring to the Village Table.

If you have not already joined our schoolwide WhatsApp Group to advocate for RCP and support families during this time of uncertainty, you can find that information and more on the community run website: www.savercp.com

Building Strong Routines Together!

Getting kids out the door every morning isn't easy, but strong routines make all the difference! This month, I’m thrilled to recognize a few students who earned special recognition for showing remarkable attendance growth from last year to this year.

A huge thank you to our parents and guardians—behind every attendance milestone is a family working hard behind the scenes! Showing up regularly keeps students grounded and confident, while missing just two days a month can affect reading skills and friendships.

For practical tips on building smooth morning habits, check out this quick guide:

👉 Attendance Works: Parent Tips for Elementary Success

If mornings are a struggle or your child feels anxious about coming to school, my door is always open. We are in this together, and I'm here to support you!
