Counseling Corner @ Davis Connect

All work must be turned in by 11:59 PM on October 15th

If you're not sure of the size with the height and weight, it is better to go by height. If your student needs a larger size than listed, please contact the counseling office at 801-402-5422.

Don't wait until the last minute to turn your work in! Find a nice pace to spread your workload so that you're not scrambling to graduate. This will help you stress less!

Graduation emails will start coming to you and your parents/guardians so please make sure you check them regularly and more importantly read them. There will be important information about ordering caps & gowns, the date and time you need to arrive, and diploma information. Only vital info will be sent so please read them!

Senioritis affects students in 12th Grade in different ways. The lucky ones can survive the whole year without contracting this unique condition. If you suspect you are suffering from this common Senior disease, please check this list of symptoms:

• Lethargy
• Procrastination
• Loss of interest
• Lack of motivation

If not taken care of promptly, this can cause your grades to drop, universities may rescind offers of admission, or you may not graduate after years of hard work.

Some remedies that have helped:

• Pace yourself everyday and take short breaks if needed
• Set goals - both short and long term
• Take breaks when you're frustrated to recharge
• Reward yourself for accomplishments - a treat, a game, a TV show - and then work towards the next goal

We're on the final countdown for graduation! Keep on going, you're almost there!

The Davis Connect Hope Squad wants to remind you that we can all help prevent suicide. September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, a time when communities can come together and share their stories and resources to help spread awareness about suicide in the hope of preventing another individual from taking their life.

The SafeUT app provides a way to connect to licensed counselors that are ready to listen to any sized crisis or concern. Support is immediate and confidential, and as easy as reaching for your phone and sending that first message.

Safe UT is a free app that can be downloaded to your phone, or you may visit their website https://safeut.org/

Please join us for the 18th Annual Suicide Awareness Walk held on Saturday, September 20th. More information is to come and participation is free. For more information and to register: https://nuhopeutah.org/walk
