Superintendent Update: April 2026

Good morning Lebanon School District Community,
In March, Lebanon voters approved the school district budget, and we are grateful for the community's continued trust and investment in our students. There's a sense of momentum as we enter the final stretch of the year — a time full of energy, milestones, and the kinds of experiences that students carry with them.
The weeks ahead are filled with the traditions and milestones that define the spring season, like drama performances, spring sports, Senior Tea and Lunch, Watershed Congress, and a myriad of other activities. We can feel the energy in our schools right now — students and staff alike seem to feel the season turning, and with it, a sense of possibility and purpose.
Thank you, as always, for your partnership and your presence in the life of our schools.
In Partnership,
Amy Allen
Superintendent
No Place Like Mount Lebanon School: A Special Community Shoutout
Lebanon Learners take risks, are creative, and go beyond conventional parameters
A special shout to the many people behind Mount Lebanon's first drama production! All of the actors showed up with heart, courage, and a willingness to shine. This wouldn't have been possible without the MLS families, who contributed hundreds of volunteer hours — sewing costumes, doing makeup, and supporting performers every step of the way. Principal Roach, Vice Principal Bailey, and the SAU facilities and technology teams made it all possible, opening the stage and championing this program.
Staff Shoutouts:
A Standing Ovation for Danielle Rafus
The Leadership Team of the Wet Paint Players sent in the following shout-out: "We would like to appreciate our amazing afternoon/evening Custodian, Danielle Rafus. Danielle always goes above and beyond and is so caring and friendly to the students of LHS. Danielle is here in the evenings so she is always around for our evening performing arts events and practices and helps us with whatever we need. She is calm, capable and just the best in every way. LHS is so lucky to have Danielle!"
Schoolboard Shoutout
Congratulations to the 2025-2026 New Hampshire School Board of the Year! The New Hampshire School Board Association awarded this achievement, which recognized the school board's outstanding leadership, teamwork, and effective governance. Additional congratulations to the newest board members Travis Talbert and Candy Hammond for winning the open seats in the March election. Travis and Candy will serve until 2029.
Know somebody who deserves a shoutout? Email Amy Allen (aallen@sau88.net) to let her know!
Statewide Testing: Two Important Messages
As we enter the statewide assessment season, we want to share important messages from Karen DuBois, our Director of Academics, Engagement, and Opportunity and NH Education Commissioner Caitlin Davis regarding this year's assessments. These messages outline the purpose of these evaluations, how results are used to support our students and schools, and how families can help their children succeed. Please take a moment to read the Commissioner's message here and Director DuBois' message here.
Event: What Parents Need to Know (and DO!) about Worry, Anxiety and Depression

Help Design The New Lebanon School District Logo!
The Lebanon School District is looking for a new logo, and we want your help! We are accepting design submissions from the community until Friday, May 1, 2026. After that, a committee made of school staff, students, families, and community members will select a few finalists before we ask the community to vote!
The logos for each of our four schools are not changing. We are only looking to update the Lebanon School District logo. Click here for guidelines to submit your design.
