Bi Weekly Newsletter - October 3, 2025
Hi Caverly Families!
We have been learning all about apples for the last two weeks. While at our “Apple Orchard" friends have been building their math, literacy, and social skills during our pretend play. Our science center has been busy with friends exploring some of life’s science concepts, such as, living things go through a cycle of growth, living things have physical characteristics, and living things have basic needs and what those basic needs are. In our Sensory Center, friends have been able to listen, touch, smell, and see ingredients that might be used for an apple pie. There they have been pretending to make their own apple treats!
Next week we will be exploring leaves and learning about foliage. Students will engage in hands-on leaf collections, sorting leaves, exploring leaf art, and we will continue to learn basic science concepts like lifecycles and plant parts!
I strive to provide consistency for Caverly families, but I also believe in being flexible and adapting to student needs. With that being said, we will continue to have plenty of outdoor learning opportunities but we may begin our day inside if that’s what feels best for students in the morning. If we do begin our day inside, students must wash their hands before entering the classroom. Thank you for being flexible and for supporting your child with this change in our schedule! Every other week we will be sending bedding home to be washed and returned, we appreciate your help with this!
