The Parma City School District is reminding parents and guardians to download and register for the Stopfinder app to take advantage of real-time school bus tracking and direct communication with the district’s transportation department.
Stopfinder is a secure, easy-to-use app that allows authorized parents and guardians to track their child’s school bus in real time through GeoAlert notifications. Elena Abbott a STEM 5 Gem!
Do you know the popular phrase "Keep Calm and Carry On?" Well, our March Student of the Month must, because she epitomizes this very phrase. STEM can involve what we call "organized chaos" as we approach our capstone date. Things can get frantic as we manage time constraints, deadlines and the different personalities of teammates to get the job done. Elena Abbott handles it all with grace! She keeps calm through it all and carries on. You can also count on her to embody Greenbriar's 3 R's. She consistently completes required work with care, is respectful to everyone she meets and sets high expectations for not only her, but her STEM peers. We think Elena's picture should be on every "Keep Calm and Carry On" poster or meme ever made...which is why we nominate her for our March Student of the Month!

Marble Madness
Our students used LEGO bricks and baseplates to design and construct their own marble runs, creating paths, obstacles, and challenges for a marble to travel through. This activity encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork as participants test their designs, make adjustments, and try to build the most exciting or tricky maze. Throughout the month of March students will take turns rolling marbles through each maze to see whose design is the fastest, most surprising, or most difficult to complete. It’s a playful way to celebrate success while keeping kids engaged and thinking like engineers.
House 6X
House 6X student of the month is Killian Mlakar. Killian is a kind, helpful young man who sets a great example for our students. He is friendly, helpful, and engaged in class. Killian participates in classroom discussions and is respectful to his teacher and his peers. He volunteers to help his teachers and his classmates. He is often heard explaining the assignments when working with a partner. He comes to school daily, eager to learn and strives to be his best. Killian has a growth mindset, is always prepared for class, and has a smile every day. He is a remarkable young man and is a pleasure to have in class. Way to go, Killian!
