Dear Academy Families and Friends,

I warmly welcome all of the new families joining Academy Avenue School and for those returning families, welcome back! The 2026-2027 school year begins in a few short weeks. Summer is a special time of the year, but nothing beats the excitement of starting a new school year.

First and foremost, class placements will be released through the Aspen Family post next Friday, August 21, 2026.

At Academy, we love teaching, learning and seeing our students grow! We care deeply for our students and our staff focuses on academics as well our students' social/emotional development. We want students to be successful in all facets of learning and love coming to school each and every day. We have an incredible team of educators who truly love what they do. We have worked hard to make sure everything is just right to start. We look forward to the new school year ahead and working with you to help your child grow.

Here are a few things to think/know about for the upcoming start of school:

• Class assignments: The Aspen family portal will be opening on August 21 for families to take a peek at their 2026-2027 teacher and classroom assignments. Click here for directions on how to set up/access the family portal.
• Once you know your child's class assignment, please be fill out the student dismissal form for your child. If you have more than one kiddo, please complete an additional form. Click here for more information regarding dismissal procedures.
• The school day starts at First Bell (8:50AM) and the late bell rings at 9:10AM. Please make every effort to have your child present and on time every day! The end of the day bell rings at 3:15 PM. Also please avoid standing or parking on or around the roundabout circle before and after school as buses will be loading and unloading in this area.

• Kindergarten families will be receiving an email on August 21 for their schedule Kindergarten Orientation time. All Orientation sessions will occur on September 3 (9:30 & 10:30AM). The first day of school for Kindergarten students will be Thursday, September 4th and is a full day of school. Incoming Kindergarten students who still need to be screened will have the opportunity to be screened at the Administration building on August 24th.
• There will also be a special kindergarten meet-up event on August 30th at the Academy Playground at 10AM. It a great way to meet new friends joining the Academy family.
