i-Ready Parent Night Slides
On October 16, our Response to Intervention Team gave an i-Ready parent night. Attached are the slides if you were not able to attend, but would really like to know more about i-Ready.
i-Ready Parent Access
Students were administered the i-Ready assessment in both Reading and Math at the beginning of this school year. This diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that identifies students’ strengths and opportunities for growth, which is important information for teachers as they work with students throughout the school year. Please click below for a more detailed description of how to access your child’s i-Ready report (through their i-Ready login on Clever) and what the information in the report means.

Healthy Ever After is Coming to Walteria
Sponsored by Torrance Memorial Medical Center and coordinated by the Walteria PTA, the HEA program encourages healthy eating and active lifestyles for our students. Throughout the school year, students will participate in four fun nutrition lessons, each accompanied by a healthy snack that ties in with the nutritious options offered in our cafeteria. The lesson videos that students will see with their classroom can be found HERE. All lessons are designed by a Registered Dietitian, and HEA has been helping students make healthier choices since 2012! Parents - We appreciate your support and hope that you review the link and have conversations with your children about healthy eating habits!
Opt-out option:
If you do not want your child to receive the provided snack, please complete the attached opt-out form and submit it to your child’s teacher by October 29.
Walteria's PBIS News
This Month in PBIS
Throughout October, we are busy learning the character trait of courage! Classroom teachers are placing special emphasis on modeling, explaining, and guiding students to understand how to demonstrate courage. Each teacher will also be selecting one student to be recognized for showing exemplary courage to be at the Monday Assembly held at the end of the month.
Building Bridges: Sponsor a Family for the Holidays
As the holiday season approaches, some families in our community face challenges that make this time of year especially difficult. For students experiencing homelessness or in foster care, the holidays can feel overwhelming and isolating.
Your generosity can provide not just gifts, but the warmth of connection and the joy of being seen and valued. Join us in making a difference—your sponsorship can transform lives. Let’s create a brighter holiday for those who need it most.

PTA CORNER
If your student enjoys art class, music class, field trips and assemblies, please make your direct donation today. These vital FUNds bring creativity, imagination, joy and FUN to our campus. At this time during last year's drive, we were halfway to our goal. So far this year, only 8% of Walteria families have donated. Donations of any amount are appreciated, and if you donate at the Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum level, there are some awesome Wildcat Pride incentives. Teachers and staff are making plans for the year, so let's make sure they have the resources they need to give our students the best experiences they can. See Flyer below to make your donation! Go Wildcats!
