It’s May 4th—a day for celebrating Jedi strength, galactic courage, and yes… finishing your coursework on time! This is your reminder that the end of the school year is near, and every assignment you complete brings you one step closer to your goals.

Even the best pilots can’t coast to the landing—so stay in control of your schedule, reach out if you need help, and push through with focus and determination. Procrastination is the path to the Dark Side (okay, not really—but missing work can definitely throw off your balance).

You have the tools. You have the training. Now is the time to power through and finish like the true Jedi-in-training you are

Grades 8-12 -- Watch your email after May 6, 2025, for a message from Mrs. Palko or Mrs. Jarka regarding your class options for the 2025-2026 School Year. Some of the classes are required. Other classes you may have an option to select.

Students in Grades K - 7 will also receive an email about classes for the 2025-2026 school year. Most of your classes are predetermined and are required.

Registration is the yearly process of reviewing and updating student information completed electronically prior to the start of school.

The 2025-26 online registration has opened earlier this year so that ALL DSC students are registered by the end of the 2024-2025 school year. To register your children online visit:

High School Students,

Do you still need to complete your service-based learning as part of your graduation requirements? We have made arrangements for our students to volunteer at the Duneland YMCA Healthy Living Campus on Mondays and Fridays during the months of April and May.

To complete your serviced-based learning requirement, you must volunteer for a minimum of two hours. Since a majority of the project will be cleaning, make sure to wear appropriate clothes including closed-toe shoes.

The Y Healthy Living Campus is located in the southern portion of the former Chesterton Middle School (by the swimming pool). When arriving, students should sign in at the Trojan Learning Center at 601 W. Morgan Avenue, Chesterton, IN 46304. A Duneland School staff member will walk with you to the Y Campus and stay on site while you volunteer. Any student in Grades 9 -12 can volunteer!

Dates: May 5 and 9.

Times: 9:30 am -10:30 am and 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Students should arrive by 9:20 am or 12:20 pm.
