PTA Weekly Update
September 16, 2024

October 6, 2025
Good morning Huskie Families,
Today kicks off Anti-Bully Week, which focuses on teaching kids to stand up to discrimination and celebrates inclusivity, respect, and kindness. See the attached flyer with info on how your students can participate!
It's a busy time for the Spring Brook PTA - here's just some of what's going on this week:
- Register for our Charleston Wrap Fall Fundraising program. This is a fantastic opportunity to check a few items off your holiday shopping list (early!) while also helping raise funds for our school.
- Stop by Keller's Farmstand in Oswego for some fall activities this Saturday, Sunday, or Monday and support our school!
- The PTA Art Reflections Program is accepting submissions now through October 17. This year’s theme is “I Belong.” All students are eligible to participate, encourage your kids to get creative!
- We are seeking volunteers for our Art Awareness program.
- If your family owns or is connected to a local business and is interested in sponsoring a Spring Brook event, please contact our Community Relations chair.
Keep reading for details on all of these, and other opportunities to get involved. And don't forget to check out our website - it's a one-stop-shop for all things Spring Brook.
Have a good week!
Anti-Bully Week: 10/6 - 10/10
Spring Brook is celebrating Anti-Bully Week October 6 - 10. The week is designed to raise awareness of the negative effects of bullying and encourage students to stand up against discrimination, while celebrating inclusivity, respect, and kindness. Join us as we work to create a kind and safe school for all!
We're kicking things off at an all-school assembly featuring the Tim Hannig’s Pro-Kids Show today, October 6. Tim connects with kids through his award-winning magic, comedy, music, puppets & audience involvement. He performs in schools throughout the country, and has also performed for Six Flags Theme Parks, The Country Music Association, and twice at The White House.
The attached flyer includes more info on how we're celebrating Anti-Bully Week! It was also sent home in your student's Friday Folders.
Charleston Wrap Fundraiser: Now Through 11/1
Charleston Wrap packets went home on Friday, and the PTA's fall fundraiser starts this week! The official run dates for the fundraiser are October 1st through November 1st. Here are 3 easy steps to help your child get started:
1. Register now as a participant at www.registercw.com using our school code (11280). All sales and payments are online; nothing to collect or turn in at school!
2. Invite your friends and family to support our cause! Share a link to our sale using text and email invitation tools. You can also share your link on social media!
3. Shop online and help us reach our goal! With over 2,500 gift ideas, there is something for everyone! Items sold will be tracked online for prizes, so no need to turn in prize coupons to teachers.
Contact Kate Kopp if you have any questions. Thank you for your support!
Community Relations
A Note from Our Community Relations Chair:
As the PTA looks for new ways to partner with the community to enrich the lives of our students, we are expanding our sponsorship program for events during the 2025-2026 school year.
If your family owns or is connected to a local business and is interested in sponsoring a Spring Brook event, please see the attached letter for more information or reach out to Ellen Muryan.
Upcoming Events
Keller's Farmstand Fundraising Days
Bring your family to Keller's Farmstand in Oswego this October! Enjoy fall activities, including a 12-acre corn maze, wagon rides, pumpkin and apple picking, and more, while earning money for our school. Fundraising dates will take place from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on the following days:
- Saturday, October 11
- Sunday, October 12
- Monday, October 13
A portion of the proceeds - 25% of ticket sales - will go to the PTA! Bring or show the attached flyer to ensure we get credit!
PTA Reflections Art Program
PTA Reflections is a great way to encourage your child's creativity outside of the classroom. Students are invited to reflect on the theme "I Belong!" and create an original work of art, literature, music, choreography, film and/or photography.
All Spring Brook participants will be celebrated at an awards breakfast in November. Sign up here to receive the entry form and more information on how to participate. Entries are due Friday, Oct. 17.
Volunteer Opportunities
Calling All Art Awareness Volunteers!
Do you love art or love to help out in your child's classroom? We need parents to volunteer to teach Art Awareness lessons to your child's class. We provide everything you need to do the lesson, no experience necessary!
Volunteers pair up and teach the students about well-known artists and their works and then facilitate an art project inspired by the style once per school year. All teaching materials, training, and activities are provided for volunteers. The students always enjoy the lessons and will amaze you with their interpretation of the art presented.
Sign up for ONE spot only. You will self-schedule one lesson with your teacher in the semester you are assigned to. Please remember, teachers are making time for these extra lessons in their classrooms, so being flexible is very important!
Let's keep art flowing through our school!
