Principal's Message Principal's Message

Dear Families,

October is a busy and exciting month on our campus! Students are now fully settled into their classroom routines, and we are seeing wonderful growth in both academics and character. Thank you for partnering with us to support consistent attendance—every day of learning truly makes a difference.

This month brings opportunities for both learning and fun. Our teachers are working hard to maximize instructional time and provide engaging lessons, while also encouraging creativity and problem-solving. We are also looking forward to seasonal activities that build school spirit and community.

As the weather changes and schedules get busier, please continue encouraging good habits at home—reading together each evening, practicing responsibility, and showing kindness to others. These small daily efforts add up to big successes for your child.

We are grateful for your partnership and support. Together, we can make this October a month full of growth, celebration, and learning for every child.

Character Word for October is COURAGE!

What is courage? To choose what is good, right, and kind even

when it is hard or scary.

College and Career Military Readiness in Elementary

Even though students are years away from graduation, college and career readiness begins early. At the elementary level, the focus is on building habits, skills, and exposure that will set students up for success later.

Key Focus Areas for Elementary CCMR:

  • College Awareness

    • Introducing the idea of higher education through college shirt days, classroom discussions about future goals, and exposure to different careers.

    • Encouraging a love for reading, problem solving, and curiosity — the foundation for lifelong learning.

  • Career Exploration

    • Career days, guest speakers, and classroom projects help students connect learning to real-world jobs.

    • Emphasizing the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and communication — skills that all careers require.

  • Military Awareness

    • Recognizing and honoring family members who serve in the military.

    • Highlighting service, leadership, and discipline as positive character traits that prepare students for any path.

  • Readiness Skills

    • Building responsibility (completing homework, being prepared for class).

    • Developing social-emotional skills like perseverance, respect, and goal setting.

    • Growing academic foundations in reading and math to ensure future success.

Campus Reminders & Procedures Campus Reminders & Procedures

As we move into October, here are a few important reminders to help our campus days run smoothly:

  • Arrival & Dismissal – Please use designated drop-off and pick-up areas. For safety, avoid cell phone use while in the car line. Students should be on campus by 7:45 so they don’t miss important morning instruction. Please stay in your vehicle and remain in the line.

  • Attendance Matters – Every school day counts! Please schedule appointments outside of school hours when possible and send a note if your child is absent.

  • Weather Changes – Cooler mornings are here. Make sure jackets and sweaters are labeled with your child’s name.

  • Healthy Habits – Encourage your child to eat breakfast (served daily in the cafeteria) and get plenty of rest each night.

  • Campus Safety – All visitors must check in at the front office with an ID. Thank you for helping us keep our campus secure.

We appreciate your support in reinforcing these procedures and reminders—it truly helps us create the best learning environment for every child.
