Hopkinton Middle School

Growing an active community of strong minds and kind hearts.

Note from the Principal

We would like to extend our thanks to the HPTO for their support of this week’s guest speaker, Anthony Valentine. His presentation, along with the classroom visits that followed, called upon students to identify their “three words” to complete the phrase “I am……” Listening to students share their three words, for example- “I am brave”, “I am determined”, “I am kind”, and “I am thoughtful” - was powerful for us all. He also spoke to students’ experiences, feelings, beliefs and reality, encouraging students to focus on how they can control their beliefs about themselves. He reminded us all that, collectively, we are responsible for the experiences that both students and staff have in our school each day.

Thank you again to the HPTO for supporting this visit and furthering our mission statement: Growing an active community of strong minds and kind hearts.

Grade 6 Homeroom Challenge

Thursday March 13, 2025

6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Hopkinton Middle School Brown Gym

The annual 6th grade Homeroom Challenge Event is upon us! Hosted by the Ignite Leaders, Homeroom Challenge pits homeroom against homeroom in a series of fun and exciting activities to determine an overall champion. Leading up to the event, students participate together in a variety of in-school events including Trivia, a Door Decorating Contest, and elimination events for the relay races and knock-out contest. On the night of the event, homerooms will nominate members to play at musical chairs, a dance off, and cup stacking. Finalists of the relay races and knock-out contest will also compete for the final winner. At the end of the night 3 awards will be given: Spirit Award, Sportsmanship Award, and Homeroom Challenge Winner.

Students may be dropped off at the Water Tower parking lot doors no earlier than 5:50pm. Students should be picked up at the end of the event at 7:30pm. This is a drop-off event. Parents are not able to enter or participate.

*****A key element of the event is homerooms displaying their name and theme through a door decorating contest (on 2/28/25) and in their attire the night of the event. If you are interested/able to contribute to supplies, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher for a list of needs. We appreciate your support.
