OCTOBER
Note from Dr. Sutton
Dear Roo Families,
Thank you so much to everyone who donated and supported our first annual Kanga Run! Your generosity and enthusiasm made the event a fantastic success, and we will be sharing our final donation total with you very soon.
As we roll into October, our classrooms will be busy exploring a variety of exciting new topics and developmental skills. This month, we will be focusing on:
Shape Attributes: Identifying shapes and understanding their distinct properties (sides, corners, and curves).
Name Recognition: Practicing how to recognize, spell, and write our first names.
Book Handling Skills: Learning how to hold books correctly, turn pages carefully, and follow text from left to right.
Seasons: Observing the transition into autumn, changing weather patterns, and nature's shifts.
Life Cycles of Plants: Exploring how seeds grow into plants, flowers, and trees.
Families: Celebrating our unique family structures, traditions, and backgrounds.
We also have numerous opportunities for families to visit and get involved at school throughout October. Please keep an eye out for upcoming calendar invites and event details—we hope to see you here soon!
With love,
Dr. Megan Sutton

Program: The Body Safety Program
Topic: Sexual Abuse Prevention*
Community Agency: The Child Center
Our Body Safety Program Lessons will be conducted on February 3 & 4.

Leader in Me - Little Leaders in the Making
Our preschool classroom is a Leader in Me environment! This means we focus on helping our youngest learners discover their unique strengths, build confidence, and practice big-hearted leadership habits. Throughout the year, we will learn about the 7 Habits using simple concepts like taking responsibility for our choices, playing well with others, and taking care of our bodies and minds. Look in your daily folders so you can celebrate your little leader's growth at home!
District Wide Early Release Days
Late Start Mondays are now Early Release Wednesdays
Please note that for this school year, WSD is replacing monthly Late Start Mondays with monthly All-District PK-12 Early Release Wednesdays (2 Hr).
-Our next monthly All-District PK-12 Early Release (2-hour early dismissal) will be Wednesday, October 21
.
- Elementary Early Release Supervision: Paid supervision will be available for preschool and elementary students on early release days, similar to previous Late Start supervision. This is separate from our Chautauqua Program.

Monthly Tuition
Tuition Procedures
Please pay your Monthly payment by October 10.
Monthly fees are due by the 10th day of each month. A $15 late fee will be assessed if an account has a balance after the 10th of each month. Your payment must be received by the 10th. Parents will receive a notice that their account is delinquent, and an opportunity will be given to pay the account in full. If you are late on your payment for two consecutive months you will be required to set up a payment plan with the program administrator. If the payment plan is not followed, your child will be unenrolled from the program.
We realize during the first month of school there may be late payments due to difficulties with getting our FOCUS accounts up to date with new enrollments. If you have questions or concerns - please call our office.
Once a child has been unenrolled from the program due to non-payment, a letter will be sent to the parent responsible for the account, and an opportunity will be given to pay the account in full. If the balance remains unpaid, a fine will be placed in your child’s school account.
Tax statements are provided online by the IRS deadline of January 31 of the tax year to the address of the responsible billing party on the Wentzville School District account. It is the responsibility of the parent to forward that information to the correct person if it is someone other than who is listed on the account.
We accept Visa/MasterCard/American Express and Discover for payment each month. Online payments may be submitted through the FOCUS parent portal. Payments can also be made in exact cash or check payable to the Wentzville School District.
There is a $20 return check/debit fee that you will incur in the event your check/debit does not clear.
