Dear Northwood Community,

I hope everyone enjoyed Super Bowl Sunday yesterday—whether you were cheering on your favorite team, watching the halftime show, or just enjoying time with family and friends! It’s always fun to share in big community moments together, and now we’re ready for another exciting week here at Northwood.

Last Thursday, I had the honor of celebrating four of our incredible volunteers at the annual PTA Founder’s Day Dinner. I would like to extend a special congratulations to Lisa Miller, Kaela Momtselidze, Kerry Pape and Robbie Shepherd for receiving the Texas PTA Honorary Life Membership Award. Their dedication, generosity, and countless hours of service truly make a difference in the lives of our students and staff, and we are so grateful for all they do to support Northwood.

This week we have several exciting events and important reminders. On Thursday evening, we invite you to join us for Curriculum Night, For the Love of Learning. It will be a fun opportunity to spend time together as a family, explore learning activities, and even have a chance to win a door prize. We hope to see you there!

Also on Wednesday, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will participate in the STAAR Math released practice test. Please remember that this will be a closed campus day, and visitors will not be permitted during testing hours. Thank you for helping us provide a focused and supportive testing environment for our students.

On Saturday, our 4th and 5th grade robotics team will compete against other schools in a robotics competition. These students have worked incredibly hard all year to prepare, and we are so proud of their dedication and teamwork. We wish them the very best of luck as they represent Northwood!

Finally, please note that we will have an early release on Friday, and there will be no school on Monday in observance of President's Day.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We appreciate all you do to make Northwood such a special place for our students to learn and grow.

With appreciation,
Mrs. Harper

School Lunch

We have a wonderful cafeteria that serves breakfast and lunch daily. This year meals are provided at no charge to ALL students as part of the Community Eligibility Program. Click THIS link to watch a short video about what is included on the school breakfast or lunch tray and what items are an extra charge.

If your child wants "extras" beyond the regular school tray, you need to add money to their cafeteria account by visiting schoolcafe.com or sending in a check or cash.

Visitors to Campus

  1. All visitors to campus will be required to present an ID and receive a visitors badge through the Raptor system in order to come into the building during the school day. This includes on the first day of school. We understand that this may not be convenient, but it is necessary in order to ensure safety.

School Absences

Our goal is for all of our students to maintain outstanding attendance (at least 95%).

The best way to learn is by being present at school and on time, ready to learn at 7:25 am every day! If your child needs to be absent due to illness, please be sure to send a note to school the day they return explaining the reason for the absence. Absences for illness and medical appointments will be excused with a written note. A student can have no more than 18 absences in order to recieve credit for the course/grade level.

Parent Pick Up will line up on the sidewalk near the marquee, with their dismissal tag and wait to be called.
