Pride Preview Vol 3
As we enter Week 3, let’s stay focused on making every minute count. Tight transitions, clear pacing, and purposeful instruction add up to big results for our students.
We also have powerful district resources available—let’s use them fully to strengthen lessons and save time where the work is already done.
Instructional time is our most valuable resource. Let’s protect it, maximize it, and keep the momentum going.

COUNSELOR'S CORNER
As part of our school-wide focus on student well-being, each classroom will include a calming area called the Zen Den. This space will provide students with a safe, supportive environment to regulate emotions and refocus during the day.
To support you in setting up your Zen Den, you will receive:
A Zen Den sign to display in your classroom
Additional materials and resources to help guide students in using the space effectively
Together, these spaces will help us build a consistent and caring environment for all students across our school.

NURSE'S CORNER
Medical Procedure Time Change
The time I will be out of the clinic for a daily medical procedure will be changing from 1:50 pm to 12:35 pm to 12:50 pm to 1:35 pm. This will ensure I have adequate time towards the end of the school day to assess students with symptoms of illness or injuries.
Student Health Concerns
Reviewing student records for health concerns is an extremely time-consuming process which I am tackling as quickly as possible. I will be notifying each grade level of students with health concerns, in case you cover for each other. Staff members who provide services to all students will have access to all health information. In the meantime, any student exhibiting health concerns should have a pass entered and will be evaluated in the clinic.
Kindergarten Restroom Accidents
Please ask parents/guardians to send a change of clothing for their child in case of accidents, as no clothing is stored and managed in the clinic. For K-5 students with restroom accidents, enter a Google e-pass and send them to the clinic (with their change of clothing if available). If no clothing is available, I will call parents to request clean clothes and, as always, the student will wait in the clinic to preserve their privacy and dignity.
Parental Consent for School Health-Related Services Form Update
We are on our way to having a signed consent form for all of our students.
Please take a moment to check this spreadsheet to see which of your students still need a signed form. Let me know if you need additional copies of the form. When all students have affirmative permission, I will let you know you can use classroom minor first aid kits.
Field Trip/Fundraiser Deadlines
- 1st Semester - November 7th
- 2nd Semester - April 10th
All field trips and buses MUST be submitted at least 14 instructional days prior to the trip. The last day for field trips is May 3rd. We will have a new field trip platform coming soon through the DISD Portal but for now we are still utilizing Laserfiche.
Please login to Laserfiche for submission and approvals for field trips, fundraisers, etc. using your email address and password. The forms are accessible through the District’s Portal titled Laserfiche.
