Principal's Corner
Springtime is definitely in the air! 🌷☀️ Students are getting excited for summer, but it is important to stay focused on schoolwork as we finish strong.
End-of-year reading and state testing will begin on April 20. It is important that your child gets plenty of sleep and a good breakfast each day—especially on testing days for that extra boost. 💪📚 Please note that not all grades will test on the same day—testing will vary throughout the week. Here are the dates for testing:
April 20-May 1-MAP Testing for 3rd-8th grade
April 27-May 5-i-Ready Testing for Kindergarten-8th grade
May 4-8-EOC Testing for High School
A schedule will be sent home next week with more specific testing dates for your child. If your child will be absent, please notify the office as soon as possible so we can make arrangements for their make-up test.
As we move into warmer weather, clothing styles begin to change. Please make sure your child is following the dress code policy outlined in the student handbook. We know mornings can be cool and warm up quickly, so when jackets and sweatshirts come off, please ensure that the undershirt remains school-appropriate. Thank you for your understanding!
Don’t forget about the Iberia Summer School forms! ☀️📚 Iberia Summer School is available for current Kindergarten–8th grade students. All forms are due by May 1. If you have any questions, please contact the office.

FFA Happenings
- Our trip to Devil’s Icebox was a great day of hands-on learning! Students explored topics like wildlife, water power, and career opportunities in natural resources, while also giving back by helping remove invasive plant species. It was a fun and meaningful way to learn outside the classroom and put our knowledge into action!
- Students from across Missouri gathered for the Missouri Farm Bureau Annual Youth Leadership Day, where more than 400 young leaders had the opportunity to visit the State Capitol, meet with legislators, and hear from the governor.
This event provided valuable insight into how agriculture connects with government and gave students a chance to explore leadership and advocacy in action. We are proud to share that our very own Alyssa Smith was part of the Miller County group who participated in this incredible opportunity!

Are you interested in becoming a substitute teacher?
If you are interested in becoming a substitute teacher and you do not have the required 36 college hours, you can do an online course that will allow you to get a substitute certificate. Here is the link to that course, and here is the link to the DESE web page that gives you more information about what you need to do to get a substitute certification.
