MAP Testing, Focus, & Track
May 2nd, 2025
Congrats to our Student of the Month Winners!
MAP testing is in Full Swing
This week we had some great lessons and learning activities! There are some great things going on in our classrooms! We have seen many great activities, and student engagement is at a high level! All grade levels continued on the MAP testing this week.
You can view your students grades 24/7 by logging into School Insight (Teacher Ease).
The 5th & 6th grade Spring Dance is today, May 2nd (3:30pm-5:00pm) in the middle school gym (see the flyer below). $5.00 entry fee. 5th graders bring drinks, and 6th graders bring chips or candy.
This week our track team is in action @ Hillsboro. Our student-athletes have been focused and practicing to improve their skills. We are proud of them. Our girl's Sprint Medley Relay team of Zoey Mieger, Addie Dugan, Delana Donahue, and Alicyn Rush set a new school record! The old record was 2.16 & the new record is 2.12! They broke the record by 4 seconds! Great job! Thank you goes out to our track coaches, Ms. Emily Zysk & Mrs. Macy Hahn.
Our 7th grade field trip is scheduled for next Monday, May 5th. They are heading to the Missouri Kids Unplugged (MKU) farm. The students will be learning about recycling materials, being educated on furbearers in Missouri, and fishing! All the supplies are provided free of charge. 7th grade students should arrive at the middle school at 8:30am. The bus will leave school at 8:45am. We will arrive at the farm at 9:00am. We will depart from the farm and return to school by 1:30pm. Students will contact parents if we are returning to school early.
Here is a link to the school district calendar for the year. We have many activities coming up!
Our students have completed Exact Path diagnostic testing for 2nd semester. They assessed over English/Language Arts/Reading & Math. They are now focused on individual learning paths based on their own levels of mastery. The Exact Path program assigns them lessons and activities based on their individual levels on mastery. Each students should complete 14 competencies in English/Reading & Math over the course of the 2nd semester (standards in their current grade level). Have your students login at home and show you where they are on their grade level lessons and activities. (Edmentum Exact Path)
RTI teachers run missing assignment reports for their students. This process is a focus weekly. The students receive a weekly reward for NO missing assignments! Parents/Guardians can login at any time to see grades & assignments.
Grades.........D & F lists are looked at every week and the students receive a hard copy to bring home, have signed, and return to school. This procedure has been in place each week of the school year. You can see your students grades 24/7 by logging into (School Insight) Teacher Ease. If your son or daughter has a D and/or F in one of their classes they will have a form to return to school. For one reason or another sometimes these forms don't make it home. Please check on your students grade periodically, or as often as needed. Please do not wait until then to focus on your students in danger of failing grades. Our teachers can always be contacted, and want what's best for our students.
If any students have two or more failing grades we will have family discussions, and/or communication. Coaches are also running reports and keep track of their athletes. If any student-athletes have two or more failing grades they are not eligible to participate in contests. (See Student Handbook/MSHSSA regulations)
We will have on-site summer school this year K-5, contact Mrs. Lori Howerton for more information.
