All second graders in TSD will be given the CogAT during the month of October. The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) measures both general and specific cognitive abilities: the ability to reason with words, mathematical concepts, and spatial/figural drawings. The test will be given in at least four sessions and makeups will be given for absent students. Any questions about the CogAT can be sent to Christine Davies, our Gifted teacher, at christine.davies@tsd.org.

β 2:15-2:30 Halloween Parade
β Students will change into costumes at 2:00
β Costumes should fit over regular clothing.
β Students should be able to put on their costume without assistance from an adult
β Family members wanting to watch the parade should arrive at 2:00 and go to the back
playground to watch all grade levels as they participate in the parade.
β Please allow the students to be the stars of the parade by watching and not
joining in the parade.
β Once the parade is over, adults that have checked in can go to the classrooms, if that is when your students' classroom party is scheduled.
β Parties will be scheduled by each grade level. See the information from your child's teacher.
We want to hear from our families and community members about how we are doing, both from an individual school perspective and throughout the entire district.
