Dear Walker Families,

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! We are so excited to have our Walker Wildcats back this fall. Please see some important information about our fall school year below.

Our prek-k and kindergarten meet the teacher will be on Wednesday, August 11th from 3:00-4:30. This is a drop-in time to meet the teacher and gain helpful information about starting your child in school. We are screening all incoming kindergarten students on August 3rd & 4th. We have tried to contact our incoming kindergarten families by phone and email to get a screening time scheduled. If your child has not been scheduled yet, please call or email us as soon as possible.

Our back-to-school night for 1st-5th grades to meet the teacher is on August 12th from 4:00-6:00. Students who have last names that start with a letter A to letter M will come between 4:00 and 5:00. Students with a last name that starts with anything from the letter N to a Z will come from 5:00 to 6:00. This is a drop-in event.

If you have a child that you need to enroll in kindergarten, please see the information below in this newsletter explaining what you will need to do or call our school office for help at 479-750-8874. If you have a child that you need to enroll in pre-k, please see the information below in this newsletter explaining what you will need to do or call our Springdale Pre-K Center for help at 479-750-8889.

All students in kindergarten through fifth grade will have a supply fee of $30.00 for school supplies. You can pay this fee online using the link in the button below.

The After School Program for School Age Child Care from 3:00-6:00

The After School Program was established in 1992 as a partnership with the Springdale School District to provide a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for school-age children. We provide after-school care from the time school is dismissed until 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and are conveniently located in every elementary school, except Jones and Parson Hills Elementary. We have also expanded our program to include Hellstern Middle School.

Tuition consists of a $50 per child registration fee. $65 per week for one child, $125 per week for two children, and $150 per week for three children. Children may attend on a drop-in basis at a rate of $25 per day/per child. If families choose to have their tuition automatically drafted, a $2.50 per week discount will be applied to full-time enrollment.

The After School Program offers an exciting summer program and provides all daycare for most holiday breaks. Every member of our staff is privately background checked, and CPR/First Aid certified. We are licensed by the Arkansas Department of Human Services, Better Beginnings level 2, accept the child care voucher program, the essential workers funding, and the Ottawa Tribe childcare funding. The After School Program is a member of the Better Business Bureau, the Springdale Chamber of Commerce, and are proud sponsors of numerous local charities and events.

Kindergarten Registration

We can't wait to see our new kindergarten students join our Walker family next school year! Do you need to register your child for kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year? To register your child, go to www.sdale.org and click on ENROLL NOW or you can come to Walker for a face to face enrollment opportunity on Monday, April 12th from 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm. Our office team will be ready to assist you to ensure your child is completely registered. Please bring the following documents: 1. A birth certificate; a statement by the local registrar or a county recorder certifying your child’s date of birth; an attested baptismal certificate; a passport; an affidavit of the date and place of birth by the child’s parent or guardian; previous school records, or; United States military identification 2. Social security number, if available. 3. Immunization records. Your child must be up to date with all of their kindergarten shots before August 2021. 4. Kindergarten physical; if you do not have your kindergarten physical it must be completed before August 2021. 5. Proof of address Masks will be required. Please share this message if you have a friend or neighbor who needs to enroll a child in kindergarten at Walker for the 2021-22 school year.
