Week of November 2 to 6
Attention 8th Grade Students and Families
Come to the family information night on Thursday, November 5th from 5:30 to 6:30pm in the Edendale gym. Learn more about the Small Learning Communities, meet high school staff, and get information on the enrollment process. All students will need to complete an online form before December 4, 2026. Small Learning Community placement information will be shared with families in February. Spanish and Chinese translation will be available in the meeting.
Is Your Phone Number Up to Date?
As the weather changes, more students get sick, and we need to be able to reach you quickly. Please take two quick steps:
- Update your phone number in Aeries so we always have the right number on file.
- Make sure your student knows your number by heart. Many students don’t, and it’s one of the most important numbers they can know.
Need help with Aeries? Come to our next Family Workshop in Room 107 on Monday, November 16, 3:00–4:00 pm or Wednesday, November 18, 9:00–10:00 am. We’ll help you update your information there.
Financial Empowerment Family Workshop
The Edendale Family Center and Eden Church invite families to our second workshop! Come to one of these sessions in Room 107 (main hallway, near the loop door):
- Monday, November 16, 3:00–4:00 pm
- Wednesday, November 18, 9:00–10:00 am
We’ll talk about the obstacles families face with money, how credit works, and how taking part in a tanda can help build your credit. Bring your questions — we look forward to seeing you!

School Policies and Expectations for Students
Cell Phone Free School
Students must power down their phones and keep them in their backpack from 1st bell (8:11) to the last bell (2:38). Lunch is only time they can turn it on. Thank you for supporting this effort at home by reminding your student about the new guidelines.
Backpacks and School Supplies
Students, show up ready, learn ready — every class, every day with your backpack, pens & pencils, paper, and anything else your teacher requires.
i-Ready Homework
This year's schoolwide homework is iReady: students should complete at least two lessons per week in both Reading and Math. If your child needs a Chromebook at home, contact the Main Office at 510-317-5111 or 510-317-5112. Thank you for supporting your child's learning!
