A Letter from the Headmaster

Parents,

I pray you had the opportunity to attend our April Chorus concert and the enjoy the results of the hard work put in by our scholars. Please ensure you take advantage of the opportunities to come and see what your scholars have learned this year during the Academic Expo listed on the calendar. As we enter this last month of our first school year, allow me to wholeheartedly thank you for your assistance and trust in walking beside you as we pour into your scholars. Please know your patience and grace were noted and appreciated as we continue to sharpen many of our policies and procedures. We are excited at what the coming school year holds for our staff and students.

As always, Go Lions!

Mr. Bradley

Late Pick Up Policy Late Pick Up Policy

Pursuant to SJCA's Family and Scholar Handbook, scholars are expected to be picked up promptly as school ends. Parents who pick up their scholars after 3:25 p.m. (1:25 on Wednesdays) will be charged $16 per child.

Proof of Excused Absences Proof of Excused Absences

SJCA requires suitable proof of excused absences which may include, among other forms of documentation, written statements from medical professionals. Scholars may turn in an illness letter from a parent three (3) times prior to requiring a doctor’s note, at the Head of School’s discretion. If a scholar does not provide legitimate, written documentation, within three (3) days of return to school, the absence will be considered unexcused. More than nine (9) unexcused absences may result in retention at the discretion of the Headmaster.

From the Lunch Room

Per the National School Lunch Program, we must offer lunch all school days, to include the last 3 early release days of school in May. Because of this, all families will be sent an "Optional Lunch Order" Google Form via Blackboard. There will be a deadline to respond if you would like a bagged "to go" lunch for your scholar(s). Only those who pre-order will have a lunch ready for them on those days (May 28-30). If you have questions or concerns, please email lunch@stjca.org.

  • Please remember the menu is subject to change based on product availability.

  • Please review the Unpaid Meal Policy on page 45 of the Family and Scholar Handbook. The negative charge limit is $20, the cost of 5 meals.

  • Please use the MSB app/web version to load funds so that the campus can be cashless.

  • Spending limits can be placed on your scholar's lunch account. Contact lunch@stjca.org for more information.

  • Per the National School Lunch Program, your scholar(s) must take the full meal served including the milk, UNLESS there is a medical statement on file with the school. If you have questions, concerns, or need a medical statement form, please contact lunch@stjca.org.

As we start to think towards summer, Read, Read, Read! Read to your scholars; find the genre, style or historical time period that your scholar enjoys and help them enter that world of adventure. Reading will continue to build their vocabulary, inspire their imagination and expose them to adventure in a safe way. You will find suggested reading lists in this edition of The Lion Line.
