Beanstack Updates from the Library
"The Academy for Academics and Arts Elementary students are making HUGE progress with our new reading reward program, Beanstack! Our school-wide community goal for the year is to read 16,000 books. We are currently over 7% of the way there with 1,247 books read in September alone. Our top classroom for September in minutes read was Ms. Lazor's 4th grade homeroom. Our top classroom in September for the number of books read was Mr. Miller's 2nd grade class. We are excited to announce that our top students for the month in time read were Oliver Karigan, Breanne Bradford and Madison Nesbit. Our top students for books read were Raegan Ward and Amelia Rivera. Please help us keep the momentum going all year long by logging each time your child reads in the Beanstack app or website. Need help? Email Ms. Lancaster with questions at dorothy.lancaster@hsv-k12.org"

HCS Magnet Applications Open Soon
Applications open October 13th for students interested in attending an HCS magnet program for the 2027-2028 school year. If you have a student already enrolled at AAA but are interested in admission for a sibling, we encourage you to apply early!
Students already enrolled in HCS magnet programs do not need to reapply unless your child is an 8th grader with an interest in attending Lee High's arts magnet, New Century Technology High School, or the College Academy at Jemison High. Rising 9th graders will need to apply for admission to these programs and again, we encourage early application.
If you have questions about the application or admissions process, please reach out to magnet@hsv-k12.org.
