Items student’s need for the Last Day of School Celebration
On the last day of school, students should have:
tennis shoes that can get wet
socks for the inflatables (no socks, no inflatables)
water bottle with child's name
extra clothes - your child will get wet
towel
Please be sure to apply sunscreen on your child before they come to school. T-shirts will be distributed to each child on Lalapalooza Day, May 21st. If you are a parent or volunteer who ordered a t-shirt for yourself, your child’s teacher will likely send it home in advance of the last day of school.
Liberty Library Books
All school library books are currently overdue. If your child has missing items, kindly help them locate these items and return them to the school library ASAP. Lost books are $15 each and can be paid for with cash or check made payable to Liberty Elementary School. Please contact Mrs. Smith at mesmith@wscloud.org with any questions or concerns.
Thank You Volunteers!
Thank you to all the families and guardians who volunteered this school year! Whether you chaperoned a field trip, helped out at one of the PTA events, or supported activities in the classroom, we couldn’t have been successful without your help! Thank you for the many hours you contributed to help make this school year a memorable one for your child and for all the students at Liberty.
Moving or Changing Schools This Summer
If your student will not be returning to Liberty Elementary in August, please email jhofacre@wscloud.org and share your new address, school/school district (if you know it). This helps us plan our classes, and make sure that your child's school records are sent to their new school.
Lost and Found
Please ask your child to check the lost and found for any missing items. Unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity.
Lunch Menu Change for Tuesday, May 19th
We will serve popcorn chicken for choice #1 (not baked rotini) and hummus with pita and veggies for choice #2.
Liberty School Supply Lists
These are the School Supply lists for 2026-27. They are also attached as pdf files at the end of this newsletter.
Golden Leopard Award
Thank you to all the families who nominated Liberty staff for the Golden Leopard Award this year! Even if your nominee did not receive the award, we were able to tell them that they were nominated and shared all of your kind words with each one. Thank you for helping us honor our fabulous staff!
The May award winner is art teacher, Erin Brandol. Some of the comments about Mrs. Brandol includes the fact that she does a fantastic job drawing out (pun intended) the very best from each of her students. She’s generous to her colleagues and is instrumental in helping to make special events extra special with her many talents.
5th Grade Clap Out
Parents and others wishing to attend the clap out are encouraged to join us for this fun and special moment for our 5th graders. All visitors will need to position themselves along the outer perimeter of the playground or may stand in the center mulch area.
2:30-2:35 p.m. - All students will line both hallways for the 5th grade clap out
2:35 p.m. - 2:43 p.m. - 5th grade students will......
walk down the front hall and go out door #8 (North end of building)
come back inside the door #7 and walk down the back hall so that all Liberty students can clap for them.
then proceed out Door #5 (behind building) to the playground and pass between the Big Toy area and the back of the building
return back inside using door #8 and go to their homerooms to pack up.
Volunteers Honored at our Town Hall assembly today
Each year as a school community, we recognize two volunteers at our final town hall who are making a real difference here at Liberty.
Our first honoree today was our WEA Friend of Education, Deborah Maxwell. She is a grandparent of Islay (PreK) and Bill (1st). Deborah has been an active volunteer here at Liberty, particularly with our Ready for Reading program for kindergarteners.
Our second honoree is our Worthington Noon Lions Outstanding Volunteer, Lindsay Marx. Lindsay is the mother of Zachary (1st) and Samuel (5th). Lindsay has been an active PTA member and volunteer and served several years as our Liberty PTA president.

Emergency Data Review - Important Change
Security requirements are causing us to consider making a significant change to the current process that parents follow for the annual Emergency Data Review. This year, the Emergency Data Review form will not be reset in early June as in previous years. Technology Services will email information to families and guardians later this summer with instructions for how and when to complete the annual information review process.
