École Maple ES Family Update
Week of November 11 -15
Dear Families,
We will begin our week on Monday November 11th, which is Remembrance Day. We have 2 assemblies planned at school that day to accommodate classes and families that may attend. Ceremony 1 will be at 10:00am for all classes from grade 3-6. Ceremony 2 will be at 12:15 for all students Kindergarten to grade 2. We look forward to honoring our veteran and active military for the sacrifices they have and continue to make in protecting freedom around the world.
On Tuesday November 19th, we are fortunate to continue our learning around the life and challenges of military families with a special reading to our grade 1 students in both French and English, hosted by the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research.
We also have our Progress Reports going home on Friday to all students, so please keep an eye open in backpacks and communication bags and binders for these.
Please see our 'looking ahead' section below to see what's coming up over the next few weeks as well!
Have a great week!
From the Ecole Maple Team!
p.s. Check out the fun photos from our Terry Fox Fundraiser Event. Ecole Maple raised over $15,000, and resulted in some staff getting pies in the face, scooter raising, beard and moustache shaving, and a big race outside with Radio Announcers Reid and Ben!

NEW for Maple: Established Meet-Up Locations for Walkers
In collaboration with the City of Kingston and KFL&A, Ecole Maple is excited to offer an opportunity for families to access established meet up locations for their student (s) who are walking from the neighbourhood indicated on the meet up location map. Families may decide to walk with the group, or set up a network where this could be scheduled with other families in the neighbourhood. At the end of the school day, students can also access the meet up location at the Gazebo for their walk home. As indicated, there is the advantage of increased safety when traveling in numbers as well as an opportunity to make friends and build community.
