August 7, 2026

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! Our campus is filled with excitement as we prepare to welcome our students back for another year of learning, growth, and unforgettable experiences.

This year's theme, Set Sail, Conquer All, reminds us that every new school year is a new journey filled with opportunities to discover, persevere, and achieve. Together, we will inspire our students to be confident learners, compassionate leaders, and individuals of strong character.

At Franklin Academy, we know that student success is built through a strong partnership between home and school. Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. We are committed to providing a safe, engaging, and inspiring learning environment where every student is known, valued, supported, and challenged to reach their fullest potential.

As you read through this newsletter, please take a few moments to review the important information and complete the required action items to ensure your child is ready for a successful first day of school on Monday, August 10.

We are honored to be part of your family's educational journey and look forward to an incredible year ahead. Together, let's set sail... and conquer all!

With gratitude,

Elena Diaz, M.Ed.

πŸš— Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Please review our Carline Route Guide and Dismissal Video before the first day of school.

  • Elementary Dismissal: 2:00 PM
  • MYP Dismissal: 3:00 PM (During the first week, we recommend arriving closer to 3:30 PM to avoid elementary dismissal traffic.)

Please do not arrive before your assigned dismissal time, as early arrivals create traffic congestion. Vehicles arriving early may be asked to exit campus and return at the appropriate time. Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe and efficient!

πŸš— DashPass Required for Car Rider Dismissal

All car riders must use DashPass for afternoon dismissal.

Before arriving on campus, please:

  • Download the DashPass app and have it open on your phone.
  • Display your dashboard placard on the passenger side of your vehicle.

For the safety of our students, we cannot release your child unless your DashPass is active and your placard is visible. Families arriving without either will be directed to a holding area while identification is verified.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Sibling Link Program

Our Sibling Link Program allows eligible elementary and MYP siblings to be dropped off together during the first arrival window and picked up together during the second dismissal window.

πŸ“Œ Please Note: Eligibility is determined and verified by the school. Students who are not approved for Sibling Link and are picked up after their scheduled dismissal time will be subject to the school's late pick-up fee.

🚌 Bus Transportation

Bus passes have been emailed to eligible families. Please print the pass and have your child carry it in their backpack on the first day of school (AM and PM passes, if applicable).

If you selected bus transportation but have not received a bus pass and believe your child is eligible, please contact E2E Transportation at route@e2etransportation.com as soon as possible.

Please Note: Students may only ride the bus if they have been issued a bus pass and appear on the official bus roster. If a bus pass has not been issued, families must arrange alternate transportation until eligibility is confirmed. Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and smooth first day!

🚢 Walkers & Bike Riders – Important Guidelines

Students are only eligible to walk or ride a bike home if they live within 2.0 miles of campus and their Way Home Form has been approved. If you selected Walker or Bike Rider but your home address is more than 2.0 miles from the school, your child will not be permitted to walk or bike off campus. You will need to arrange an approved method of transportation.

Please check your PowerSchool Parent Portal to ensure your child's dismissal method has been approved before the first day of school. Thank you for helping us keep all students safe.

🏑 Way Home Form (Required)

Please complete your child's Way Home Form in the PowerSchool Parent Portal before the first day of school. This form tells us how your child will be dismissed each day and is required for a safe and efficient dismissal process.

πŸ“Œ Action Required: We cannot dismiss your child until an approved Way Home Form is on file. Need help? Review the PowerSchool FAQs and instructional video below for step-by-step guidance.

πŸ’» PowerSchool Parent Portal

New to Franklin Academy? PowerSchool Parent Portal access codes were emailed to new families earlier this week. Please check your email and create your account as soon as possible.

The Parent Portal provides access to important student information throughout the school year, including grades, attendance, forms, and more.

πŸŽ₯ Need help getting started? Click on the link below for frequently asked questions and step-by-step instructions on creating your account and navigating the Parent Portal. If you need assistance accessing your account, please contact the school office.

PowerSchool FAQs

πŸ’» Clever Single Sign-On (SSO)

Clever is your child's one-stop portal for accessing many of the digital learning programs used throughout the school year. Students will use their Clever account to quickly and securely access instructional resources both at school and at home.

Please review the attached "How to Find Your Clever ID in PowerSchool" guide before the first day of school. We encourage families to locate their child's Clever credentials in advance to ensure a smooth start on August 10.

πŸ“Œ Tip: We recommend saving your child's Clever username and password in a secure location for future reference.

πŸ“š Class Placement Information

Our leadership team carefully considers each student's academic progress, learning needs, classroom dynamics, and social-emotional development when creating class placements. Every placement is made with the goal of providing the best possible learning environment for each child.

Class placements are final. Requests based on teacher preference or personal preference cannot be accommodated. Changes will only be considered if an administrative scheduling error has occurred (e.g., a duplicate course or placement in a course the student has already completed). Thank you for your trust and partnership as we begin another successful school year together.

πŸ‘• School Uniforms

Franklin Academy is a mandatory uniform school, and all uniforms must be purchased through our approved vendor, iUniforms. Please ensure all clothing is in good condition and label each uniform item with your child's name.

Kindergarten & Grade 1: We recommend sending a labeled change of clothes in a Ziploc bag to be kept in the classroom for emergencies.

Waiting on a uniform order? Students may wear:

  • Elementary: Navy bottoms with a light blue or light yellow polo.
  • MYP: Navy bottoms with a navy or white polo.

πŸ“Œ Important: A copy of your iUniform receipt must be kept in your child's backpack until the uniform order arrives to avoid disciplinary consequences. Uniforms may be ordered online through iUniforms.

πŸŽ’ School Supplies

If your child still needs to bring school supplies, please label all items with your child's name before sending them to school. Pre-purchased school supply kits have already been delivered to classrooms. If you have labels, simply send them with your child so they can label their supplies at school. If additional supplies need to be brought to campus, please send a few items at a time in your child's backpack rather than large boxes or heavy bags.

πŸ“Œ Please Note: Once the instructional day begins, our secure campus procedures do not allow for classroom supply drop-offs. Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and smooth school day for all students.

πŸ“’ Home-to-School Communication

To help keep families informed, every student will receive a Student Agenda (Grades K–8), and all elementary students (Grades K–5) will also receive a Yellow Communication Folder.

πŸŽ’ Please keep these items in your child's backpack every day and review them each evening. They serve as our primary school-to-home communication tools for important notices, assignments, teacher messages, upcoming events, and reminders. Staying connected through your child's agenda and communication folder is one of the best ways to support a successful school year.

🍎 National School Lunch Program (NSLP)
