💙💛 A Message to Our Valley View Families
Dear Valley View Families,
As we wrap up our first month of school, we want to take a moment to say THANK YOU! 💙💛 We truly appreciate the support, patience, and partnership you have shown as our Vikings have settled into their new school routines. 🏫✨
📚 Attendance Matters!
One of our biggest goals is to make sure every Viking is at school, on time, and ready to learn each day! ⏰📚
Every school day is an opportunity for students to learn, build relationships, practice important skills, and grow. When students are absent or arrive late, they may miss valuable instruction and learning experiences.
We ask our families to partner with us by helping students:
✅ Arrive at school on time
✅ Attend school every day when they are healthy and able
✅ Be ready to learn when the school day begins
Every minute matters. Every day matters. Every Viking matters! 💙💛
🚗 Thank You for Helping with Traffic!
We also want to give a BIG thank you to our families for helping us keep our arrival and dismissal traffic moving safely and efficiently! 🙌🚗
We especially appreciate everyone who has been mindful of not leaving vehicles unattended in the passing lanes. This small but important action helps keep traffic flowing and allows more families to safely enter and exit our campus. 🅿️➡️
We know arrival and dismissal can be busy, and we appreciate everyone's patience, cooperation, and continued partnership. Together, we can keep our campus safe, organized, and welcoming for everyone! 💙💛
📅 Get Involved!
Join us at our upcoming fundraising activities 💰 and parent meetings 👨👩👧👦. Your support helps us create a vibrant, enriching environment for all students. 📚✨
Thank you for being an important part of the Valley View Viking family! 🏫🫶
We are off to a great start, and we are excited for all that is ahead!
With Viking Pride, 💙💛

PASSING LANE (next to parking stalls) is for driving only. ❌ Do NOT drop off here.
Stop before the blue crosswalk in front of the office. 🟦
Follow staff directions 👮♀️—they are keeping students safe.
Exit the parking lot in an orderly fashion. 🏁
Do NOT park by the exit gate (red zone) 🚫; cars may be towed. Buses need space! 🚌

🎯 VV Attendance: 21.5% Chronic Absenteeism
📚 Understanding Chronic Absenteeism 📚
Hi Viking families! 👋
We know life can get busy, but coming to school regularly is super important for your child’s learning and success. 🏫✨
What is Chronic Absenteeism?
Chronic absenteeism means a student misses 10% or more of the school year—that’s about 2 days per month or 18 days in a year. 😟
Missing school can make it harder for students to keep up with lessons, build friendships, and feel confident in class. 💛
Tips to Improve Attendance:
✅ Set a consistent bedtime – kids need enough sleep to be ready for school. 🛏️
✅ Plan morning routines – pack backpacks and lunches the night before. 🎒🥪
✅ Schedule appointments wisely – try to make doctor or dentist visits outside of school hours. 🩺
✅ Talk about the importance of school – celebrate attendance and learning milestones! 🎉
✅ Reach out if needed – if your child is struggling with illness, transportation, or anxiety, let the school know. We’re here to help! 🤝
Remember: Every day counts! 🌟 Coming to school regularly helps your child succeed and feel confident. 💪💙
