Maynard High School Senior Walkthrough Maynard High School Senior Walkthrough

Each year the graduating class from Maynard High does a walkthrough of all three schools as part of their send off. This tradition is always heartwarming as seniors come back hoping to see a favorite teacher or staff member. Our Green Meadow students love cheering for the seniors as they walkthrough in their caps and gowns. We want to wish all of the MHS Seniors all the best as they move on to their next adventure. Congratulations!

Butterfly Send Off Butterfly Send Off

zoom_out_map

Our Kindergarten classes have been watching real caterpillars turn into butterflies thanks to funding from our PTO. On Thursday, Mrs. Coppola's class said goodbye to the five butterflies from their classroom. According to one student, it was really exciting but also kind of sad. We wish these Green Meadow butterflies a very happy life!

Field Day! Field Day!

Randy Wood, Green Meadow's physical education teacher, planned another fantastic Field Day this year! The weather was perfect and everyone had a great time. Many thanks to all of our Field Day Volunteers who helped make the day extra special!

Grade 3 Moving On Ceremony Grade 3 Moving On Ceremony

Our traditional Grade 3 Moving On Ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, June 17, at 9:00 AM. We will be celebrating their time at Green Meadow and wishing them well at Fowler. Families are invited to attend. Students will be performing some of the musical pieces they have been working on this Spring. Grade 3 teachers will share more information as the date gets closer.

Grade 3 Clap Out Grade 3 Clap Out

We will be recognizing our third grades on the last day with the traditional Grade 3 Clap Out. Third Graders will take a last lap around the building while students and staff clap and wish them well as they transition to Fowler. Families are invited to continue to Clap Out by lining up near the Library dismissal doors. If your child will be riding the bus that day we will still have them exit from this door before joining their bus line.

Treating others with kindness is one of our core values at Green Meadow. Have you ever noticed that no matter how hard adults try to instill kindness into children, whether it be by direct instruction at school or modeling it at home, kids are often still unkind to one another? So, what should you do when your child is not kind or does something mean? Here are 6 ways to teach kids to be kind. If you want to have some fun with kindness, check out these children's books that show the goodness in the world or sing this Green Meadow favorite song, Kindness! Questions or feedback? Please contact Julie Danforth at jdanforth@maynard.k12.ma.us.
