Hillside Happenings
December 5, 2025
Dear Hillside Families,
Book Blast Update: Thank You for Your Support!
We want to send a huge thank you to all our families for the incredible support you've shown for our recent Book Blast Program! It has been a fantastic success so far, and we truly appreciate your participation in helping us earn new books for our students.
Final Steps: Please encourage your student to complete their Treasure Map and continue to share the Book Blast link with family and friends.
Prizes & Books: All remaining prizes and books earned through the Book Blast program will be distributed to students sometime after the upcoming break. We will send details home when they are ready!
Lunch with the Leaders 🍽️
A small group of our Huskies recently enjoyed a wonderful lunch with Dr. Coffin, along with Board Members Angie Smith and Ronald Recinto. It was a delightful occasion! Our students were impressive, engaged, and eager to share their thoughts and experiences. It was a lovely, relaxed meal that truly highlighted the leadership and character of our students.
Winter Reminders ❄️
As the temperatures drop, please help us ensure our students are comfortable and healthy!
Dress for the Cold: Please remind your students to dress warmly for the colder weather, especially for outside recess. A set of snowpants, boots and gloves should remain at school.
Winter Spirit Week: Don't forget to encourage your Husky to participate in our upcoming Winter Spirit Week! It's a fun way to celebrate the season before the break! The schedule is posted below.
Dream Kings and Pretty Brown Girls will both start back up in January!! Look for participation forms to be sent home soon. Dream Kings will meet on Mondays and Pretty Brown Girls will meet either on Mondays or Tuesdays, TBD by the program director soon.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs. Maas & Mrs. Amos

🟢Donate Your Shoes & Clothing 🟢
As we begin to transition from summer to fall, don't forget to bring your items to our bin. Donate your old clothes, shoes, & linens. Donated items are recycled, and our school receives a donation. The bin is located on the west side of the parking lot.
What is Clothes Bin?
Clothes Bin® is a textile recycling program that partners with schools to turn unwanted clothing, shoes, and textiles into funding for student needs. Our bright green bins are conveniently located on campus and equipped with smart technology to ensure timely service. Every bag you drop off reduces waste in landfills and, more importantly, provides direct funding for programs, resources, and activities that benefit our students all year long.
How You Can Help
• By dropping gently used clothing, shoes, and textiles in the Clothes Bin® on campus,
you keep items out of landfills and give them a second life.
• Every bag of textiles you bring in generates real funding for our school’s programs, classrooms, and
activities.
How Our School Benefits
• Enrichment programs
• Classroom resources
• Student activities and events
The Clothes Bin Program focuses on textiles only — toys, books, and household items can be
recycled or donated through other local programs.
