We need your help!

Principal McFarland has a fun week planned to celebrate our wonderful teachers and staff, but she needs your help! There are lots of fun small ways to help, including donating gift cards (small amounts are fine), helping with games, giving a teacher a "recess break" for 20 minutes, or bringing in some treats. Please contact Ms. McFarland directly this week to help out. emmcfarland@seattleschools.org

This is also a great time for you and/or your child to write a note or draw a picture telling your teacher how much you appreciate them.

Entries due Tuesday, April 21st

This year's theme is Dragons, Community, or Friendship. We can't wait to see the amazing art from GLES students!

A few tips:

  • Use one of the templates from the envelope in the school hallway by the office, so the edges of your child's art don't get cut off when it gets scanned
  • Please use bold lines and/or colors so that it will show up well after being scanned
  • Submissions can be turned into your child's teacher

Yearbook Photos: If you've taken and photos at our Green Lake Elementary events/field trips/around the school, please upload them for the Yearbook! https://bookbuilder.pixami.com/GreenLakeEle/home3/PhotoPost.jsp?ID=73X12YD9U82X

Chaperones Always Needed!

In order to run the lessons we need:

  • Chaperones - walk with the class to and from Evans Pool
  • Locker room monitors - keep an eye on the students in the locker rooms before and after lessons
  • In-water assistants - help the swimmers practice their skills

Chaperones will walk the students to and from the school, meeting at the classroom at 9:00, returning to GLES by 10:30. Locker room helpers and in-water assistants can arrive at Evans Pool at 9:15 and leave with the students at 10:15, or walk down with the class.

If you'd like to volunteer, here is the link again. And do please help out between the two classes.
