Selena Quintanilla

Selena Quintanilla-Perez, the famous Tejano singer did not know Spanish when she was little. She learned at the age of 6 when her dad found out she had a unique voice. So she started to learn how to sing in Spanish which helped her learn how to speak it and she was able to speak Spanish with fans and during interviews.

Destiny Reyes

When I was little I knew Spanish because my aunt that watched me spoke it a lot but as I was growing up my parents didn't speak it at home. So now as a 17 year old Hispanic girl, I go through a lot of difficulties because I cant speak Spanish very well. I learned to speak Spanish a little better by taking it 3 years of high school and I understand it more than I can speak it. Because of that I can't really have long meaningful conversations with my great grandma, my grandparents, my aunts, uncles, cousin and my boyfriends family.
