NEW NASD CELL PHONE POLICY

Dear Cole Manor Families,

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to inform you that NASD has adopted a formal cell phone policy at all levels. The policy is explained in detail below.

The main points of the policy are as follows:

1. Cell phones / smart watches are not permitted out during school hours except when utilized for a medical reason that is documented from a medical professional. They must be turned off prior to exiting the bus or a car and stored until they are handed in to the teachers. All teachers have a bin in which they will store phones.

2. At the end of the school day, when phones / watches are returned, they should remain away and off until students are on the bus or in a car.

3. For students waiting for late buses, Chromebooks may be used for school-related work or activities, but cell phones are not permitted.

4. In the event that students do not abide by the cell phone guidelines, the following will take place:

• Verbal warning

• Phone confiscation to be returned to parent
