Principal's Message
Good Evening Weymouth High School Community,
We hope everyone enjoyed the great weather the past few days! This week marks the end of term 1 on 10/31/25. Please make sure your child has completed all their work for term 1.
Our seniors continue to be recognized with the "You are PAWSOME" award. This award is given to seniors who have made the Weymouth High community a better place through their character and their actions.
Despite the positive actions of our students, over the past few weeks we saw an uptick in student behaviors that resulted in a number of student altercations. We realized these isolated incidents impact us all and we are working through a plan of action moving forward. Deans will be reminding students about school expectations, what it is to be an upstander vs. a bystander, and how everyone has ownership of their behaviors and the choices they make throughout the day.
Safety of our students and staff are of utmost importance and we will be consequencing all students involved. We continue to work with students to build skill sets, specifically how to handle and cope with peer conflict.
We continue to bring awareness to mental health and many of our students participated in the Go Green for Mental Health awareness at our football game on Friday night.
Student Spotlight
Last week WHS Allied Health juniors and seniors took an exciting field trip to Boston MedFlight at Hanscom Air Force Base. The visit gave students a behind-the-scenes look at the lifesaving work of MedFlight’s critical care team and the advanced medical helicopters and ground units used to transport patients in emergencies.
Students spoke with flight nurses, paramedics, and communications specialists, learning about the teamwork and technical skills needed to care for patients in fast-paced, high-pressure situations. They also explored the education and training pathways that can lead to careers in nursing, emergency medicine, and critical care transport.
For students currently studying EKG, Phlebotomy, and CNA through the Allied Health program, this experience connected directly to Chapter 74 Health Assisting standards, especially those focused on health and safety, teamwork, and technical skill development. The visit inspired students to see how the skills they are learning now in their CTE classroom, such as patient care, communication, and professionalism, can open doors to exciting and meaningful careers in medicine.
Students from the Criminology and Legal Studies classes had the opportunity to gain first hand exposure to a university campus while exploring the Justice Studies academic pathway at Roger Williams University. During the visit, they interacted with college faculty and students, asking questions about college life and the admissions process. The experience also encouraged students to reflect on how their high school coursework prepares them for higher education, while exploring potential college and career opportunities in the field of Criminal Justice and Justice Studies.
Halloween
Please read our Halloween Costumes guidelines. Any student that chooses to wear a costume must adhere to these guidelines.
Transportation/Traffic Updates
All bus IDs have been distributed to students. Going forward, any student taking the bus home must present their ID when boarding and ride only their assigned bus.
As we continue to look at traffic patterns at our school both on campus and off campus, please continue to follow the expectations that we have outlined at the beginning of the year. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority.
