AACS Families

We’re off to a great start this school year and can’t wait for the year ahead!

We’d love your help spreading the word to friends, family, or neighbors about kindergarten - 8th grade enrollment for the 2026-27 school year. We still have a few seats remaining, and they will fill fast! We are accepting students until Oct. 1st!

Here’s how you can help:

  • Refer a friend to AACS who might benefit from our unique academic approach and community.

  • When your referral enrolls their child, your family will be entered to win a prize!

  • To refer a family email the main office with both your and your friend’s names, email addresses, and phone numbers. We’ll take it from there! mainoffice@auroraacademycharter.com

We believe that school is even more exciting when you bring a friend along! 💙❤️ By sharing your excitement, you help extend the gift of a high-quality education to more families in your neighborhood.

Thank you for your support. Together, let's make a difference in the lives of more students!

October Count October Count

Why October Count Matters to Aurora Academy

Each fall, Colorado schools participate in an official process called October Count. This process verifies the students who are enrolled in and receiving educational services from each public school.

October Count is especially important for charter schools like Aurora Academy. As a public charter school, we do not charge tuition, and much of our operating revenue is connected to the students we serve. Our verified enrollment helps determine the funding available for teachers and staff, classroom materials, technology, student support services, safety, and daily school operations.

Colorado’s newer school funding formula considers more than the total number of students enrolled. It also recognizes the needs of the students being served, including English learners, students receiving special education services, and students who meet the state’s at-risk criteria. Accurate enrollment information is therefore essential.

How families can help:

  • Please make every effort to have your child attend school on October Count Day and throughout the count window.

  • If your child is ill, please keep them home and notify the school through our regular attendance process. A documented absence does not automatically prevent a student from being counted.

  • Refer a friend or family member to enroll their child(ren).

October Count does not create “extra money” for the school, nor is it based only on one day of perfect attendance. It provides the state with an accurate picture of the students we are responsible for educating. That information helps ensure Aurora Academy receives the appropriate public funding to serve our students throughout the school year.

Thank you for helping us maintain accurate records and protect the resources that support every Aurora Academy student.

Free & Reduced Lunch Application Free & Reduced Lunch Application

We still have 172 students whose parents have not yet completed this form. Under the new Colorado school funding formula, this is how we qualify for some of the revenue that is distributed to us from the district. Every grade level still needs apps completed. If you haven't completed this form, please do so today.

We are holding a competition amongst grade levels to see who can get forms completed first!
