Summer Driver’s Education
Do you want to take Driver’s Ed but don’t want to sit in front of a computer to do it? Then take an in-person driver’s ed class this summer. Thanks to support from Gunnison County, the Choice Pass and the Colorado Department of Transportation, you can take a week-long class for free! If you are at least 14.5 years old at the start of either class, you can take one of these classes and be ready to get your learner's permit when you are 15.
- The first class will be held in Crested Butte at the Oh Be Joyful Church June 8 – 12.
- The second class will be held in Gunnison at the Ann Zugelder building August 3 – 7.
Both classes will start at 9:00 and finish around 4:30 daily. Attendance is required and at the end of the class students will take and pass a 20 question final. Snacks will be provided, and students can bring their own snacks and drink. Lunch will be on your own. If you would like to register for either class, send an email to Robert Whiting at whitingrobert29@gmail.com. If you have any questions you can call him at 970-596-8639. It’s time to learn how to drive!

CBCS Middle School Volleyball ’26 Summer Camp
Do you have a rising middle school girl interested in playing volleyball as a Titan next fall? Did you play middle school volleyball this past year and plan to return? Are you a middle schooler who hasn’t played before but wants to give it a try? Then this is for you!
Join us for the inaugural CBCS Middle School Volleyball Summer Camp! These Monday–Thursday half-day sessions will offer a variety of skill-building opportunities in a fun, supportive environment.
We will be offering two sessions, each running Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The camp is open to all rising 5th–8th grade girls, whether you are brand new to the game or already have experience.
Players will work on a wide range of volleyball skills—from serving and passing to hitting, rotations, and team dynamics—through engaging drills, games, and competitive play. Our goal is to help every athlete grow in skill, confidence, and love for the game!

Attendance
Please email CBSSattendance@gunnisonschools.net if your student will be absent or needs to miss any classes.
Student Release During the School Day
In an effort to alleviate disruptions to classroom learning, if you need to pick up your child during the school day, please do your best to utilize a passing period. We understand that this may not always be possible, but when it is, it really benefits our learning environment. Per the student handbook, middle school students must be signed out from the front office by a guardian. Please also call ahead or email. High school students can sign out from the office on their own with guardian approval (email cbssattendance@gunnisonschools.net or call 970-641-7720). Thanks for your help and support!
