Trail Blazer Bulletin August 19-23

Dear Trail Blazer Community
Our students have had a great first week back on campus. It has been great seeing their faces again and welcoming the more than 500 freshman students to campus.
Thank you to our faculty & staff for their hard work and flexibility as we navigated the usual start of year adjustments. A special thanks to our registrars and counselors who have been working tirelessly to ensure every student is properly placed and ready to learn. To our parents and guardians, thank you for your support and partnership as we kicked off the year. Your involvement is crucial to our students' success.
This week, the administrative team will meet with each class (seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen) in the auditorium to review campus expectations and procedures. Much of the information that will be shared is also contained in the FISD Student Handbook. Parents/Guardians, please take a moment to review these expectations with your students at home.
We look forward to welcoming our Trail Blazer families to campus on Monday August 26, from 6pm-7:30pm for Meet the Teacher Night. This event will provide families with the opportunity to view the campus, to meet our staff, and to learn more about what students will be learning this school year. We hope to see you there!
When: August 26th, 2024 6-7:30pm
Where: Please enter the school through the front doors. We will begin promptly at 6pm in the cafeteria.
What will you do?: Parents will attend the following:
Welcome message in the cafeteria with Admin and Counselors
Rotate throughout the building to meet your student’s teachers
What do you bring?: Your student’s daily schedule. You can come with your student or alone. Your student should have sent you a copy of their schedule this afternoon during homeroom. If they did not, you can find a copy of it in HAC. Schedules will NOT be provided to you.
What is this evening NOT?: Individual parent conferences or a time for you to ask questions about your specific student. If you need to schedule a parent conference, please email your student’s teacher.
Campus Safety & Security
Exterior Door Security
Staff and students may not prop exterior doors or open the doors for ANYONE. Appropriate consequences will be issued to students who compromise campus safety & security. Consequences may include a placement at the alternative school (DAEP). Exterior doors are checked every period to ensure that they are shutting and locking securely.
Crosswalk Safety
Students are required to remove headphones (at least one ear bud) when navigating the crosswalks during arrival and dismissal times. Earbuds & headphones represent a safety risk to our students as they prevent students from hearing safety instructions and may lead to accidents. Students must walk their bikes across the crosswalk. Please encourage your students to be vigilant and to follow instructions given during arrival and dismissal times.
Emergency Drills
Students and staff will participate in emergency drills throughout the year. Students should follow their teacher's guidance during all drills and/or real emergencies.
No Food Deliveries or Deliveries of Any Kind
Food deliveries (and other deliveries) for students from parents or guardians are no longer permitted. Parents or guardians may not enter the building to deliver lunch or any other items. No outside school deliveries from sources such as UBER, Lyft or restaurant delivery will be accepted. Students are not permitted to exit the building for pickups of any kind. Any deliveries will be confiscated by campus administration and not returned to students.Student Tardies
We will begin counting tardies and issuing consequences on Monday, August 26. If a student arrives to campus or their designated classroom after the tardy bell has rung, they will be marked tardy.
Consequences for tradies will include:
1-3 tardies: Warning
4 tardies: 1 Lunch Detention
8 tardies: 2 Lunch Detentions
12+ tardies: ISS
**Extreme tardiness could result in truancy implications & loss of academic credit.
Morning Arrival
We open the front doors daily by 8:20am.
After 9:00 am, the front door will be the only entrance. Until 8:30 students are asked to wait in the cafeteria, and asked to be seated at the cafeteria tables as they wait. After 8:30 students may continue to wait in the cafeteria, attend tutorials with a teacher, or utilize the resources available in the library.
Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria until 8:55am.
Students arriving after 9:00 will need to use the doorbell; returning students will need to show their school IDs and freshman students will inform the receptionist of their ID number. Once their IDs have been verified they will be allowed to enter the building.
Late Arrival & Early Release Reminder
Students with late arrival should plan on arriving daily just before 2nd period (10:30am). There are no early cafeteria or Library independent study times during 1st period and students will NOT be allowed in the building before 10:30.
Students with early release should plan on leaving daily by 3pm. There are no late cafeteria or library independent study times during 4th period.
Student Parking & Parking Permits
Student parking lots are on the south side, and northeast side of the building (outside the band hall and by the football field).
Students who commute during the day to Collin or the CTE will be required to enter the building through the front entrance and show their ID utilizing the front doorbell system.
All student drivers utilizing the school parking lots are required to purchase a parking sticker for the 2024-2025 school year.
Your student may purchase a parking sticker by completing the Parking Permit Form. Please submit payment by visiting onlineschoolfees.com and submitting the required documents. Your student may then pick up the parking sticker in the Front Office with the appropriate ID.
Failure to purchase a permit may result in extra fines and/or loss of parking privileges. If students park in designated staff or visitor parking places they will be stickered and required to move their car during the school day.
Video Door Monitoring
Beginning on the first day of school, August 12th all visitors to Lebanon Trail HS will use the newly installed video door monitor to request access to the building or to check a student out. The front door will be monitored by LT staff before and after school. During the day, the front door, along with every exterior door will be locked. Students must present a student ID to enter school during the day and parents will present a driver’s license at the door monitor. We appreciate your patience and grace as we work through this new process in an effort to keep our students and staff safe.
Door Monitor Instructions:
Press the ring bell and wait for a response;
The ring will light up and you will hear a doorbell chime.
There may be a pause before you receive a response.
When you hear a response:
Hold your ID close to the camera
State your reason for visiting Lebanon Trail HS
If you are picking up a student:
If your driver’s license has previously been scanned, please wait outside or in your vehicle for your student.
You will be asked to enter the office if your driver’s license has not been scanned.
Report your student’s absence using the Report an Absence feature on the LTHS website or by replying to the attendance email.
** Lebanon Trail HS staff cannot accept items dropped off for students.
Mega Lunch
Mega Lunch begins on Thursday, August 22. Students may enjoy lunch in designated areas throughout the school, attend tutorials, read, connect with friends, and take advantage of open gym time. Students may also be assigned mandatory tutorials during this time. Additionally, students can take advantage of optional tutorials.
Lebanon Trail remains a closed campus and students are NOT allowed to leave campus for any reason during Mega Lunch. Students found in violation will receive a Thursday Night Reflection or Saturday School consequence.
Homeroom Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Education
Homeroom classes at LTHS are an opportunity to build positive relationships through Frisco ISD’s Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) skills sessions. SEL lessons offer an intentional focus on building a safe school culture through social awareness, relationship skills, and managing emotions. At the LT campus, this instructional time is valuable in providing authentic experiences in developing healthy relationships with peers and staff.

Reminders
Student Pick Up and Drop Off
Click here to access the FISD Transportation site which includes bus and route information. Parents and students can use the My Ride K-12 platform to access students’ bus information.
Additionally, staff members will be available to help students find their bus after school.
Please see the map below. The front entrance will be the only point of entry during drop off.
Students dropped off at the north side of the building should walk around to the front entrance.
- Parents can help the traffic flow by following the map and being patient with one another. Once all parents learn the routine, things will go much more smoothly.
- Dropping off your student in the parking lot adds to the congestion entering and exiting our lot. Keep all students safe by following the map.
