Principal's Message
Dear GTMS Community,
March is a time to reflect on how lucky we are to be part of such a wonderful school community. At GTMS, we are grateful for our dedicated teachers who go above and beyond for their students, our supportive parents who partner with us in their child’s education, and, most importantly, our students who bring a love of learning into our classrooms each day.
This month, we have many exciting celebrations! March is Music in Our Schools Month, and we take pride in recognizing the impact that music education has on our students’ creativity and growth. We also celebrate Read Across America, encouraging students to embrace the joy of reading and the doors it opens for their futures. Additionally, March is Women’s History Month, a time to honor the incredible contributions of women throughout history and inspire our students to dream big.
As we move through March, let’s continue to show our GTMS PRIDE by supporting one another, embracing learning, and celebrating all the wonderful things that make our school community special. Thank you for your continued partnership in making GTMS a place where students thrive!
With gratitude,
Mrs. Paula Junker
Principal, GTMS
GTMS is proudly celebrating 25 years! On February 22, 2000, our halls were filled with students and staff for the first time, marking the beginning of an incredible journey. We’ve been reminiscing with staff who were here on that historic day—including some who were students at the time—about the excitement, adventure, and quick transition from Arthur Rann to GTMS after a long weekend. As we honor our school’s history throughout the year, one thing remains true—25 years later, GTMS is still as strong as ever!

Grade Level Assemblies
7th Grade Assembly
The presenter, Ms. Lee, a licensed clinical social worker, delivered an engaging and eye-opening assembly on social media addiction to our 7th-grade students. With a mix of real-life examples, statistics, and interactive questions, Ms. Lee highlighted the impact of excessive screen time on mental health, sleep, and self-esteem. Using relatable scenarios, the she demonstrated how social media apps are designed to be addictive and encouraged students to be mindful of their usage. She also provided practical strategies for creating healthier digital habits, such as setting screen time limits, taking breaks, and engaging in offline activities. By the end of the session, students left with a deeper understanding of how social media affects their well-being and felt empowered to take control of their online habits. Ms. Lee came with tons of prizes to giveaway for to the students who answered questions correctly. Ms. Lee is pictured with one winner, Trinity Kilroy! Nice job Trinity!!!
8th Grade Assembly
This month, Atlantic Care came and visited our 8th graders to discuss the topic of "Mindfullness." Mrs. Connors highlighted how to ground the body, quiet the mind, and balance the soul. She also provided students the benefits and strategies to building mindfulness skills. It was an interactive presentation that was well-received by our students, and we truly appreciate AtlantiCare taking the time to speak with us at GTMS.
Respect the Paw - Basketball Incentive
At GTMS, we love celebrating students who consistently demonstrate what it means to Respect Themselves, Others, the School, and the Community. Today, we did just that with a schoolwide basketball game!
Although teams were competing against each other, students displayed immense sportsmanship throughout the event. It was a great afternoon filled with music, prizes, and plenty of laughs.
We are so proud of our students for embodying the values of Respect the Paw!

Every student deserves a safe and supportive learning environment, free from fear and harassment. Any instance of bullying should be promptly reported to the administration or staff member, who will take immediate and appropriate action to address the situation. By fostering a culture of kindness, empathy, and respect, we can create a school community where all students feel valued and accepted.
