Principal’s Corner
What a busy and exciting four days at Slate Ridge! We wrapped up our second round of conferences and welcomed Taha Habroune, a Columbus Crew player, for our Stay in the Game assembly.
Taha was my student for five years at my previous school, so seeing how much he has grown and watching him succeed as a professional soccer player made me incredibly proud. He spoke with our students about the importance of school and attendance, and they absolutely loved having him here! Our students had so many questions and so much energy that it was hard to bring the assembly to an end.
Thank you to everyone who helped make these past four days a success. Toucans, let's keep showing up, staying engaged, and rising together!
Warmly,
Dr. Parlar, Principal
Assistant Principal's Corner
On October 15, Slate Ridge Elementary was excited to welcome Columbus Crew player Taha Habroune! As a Stay in the Game! school, we are proud to support the Columbus Crew as our team. Taha shared his journey as a professional soccer player and spoke about the importance of dedication, perseverance, and showing up every day. Fun Fact: Dr. Parlar was his principal for 5 years!
He reminded our students that success takes hard work and commitment, not only in sports but also in the classroom. We are grateful for this opportunity to inspire our Toucans to stay engaged, attend school regularly, and give their best every day!
