Notice of Upcoming Lead Water Testing
This month, the District will cooperate with the Village of Lincolnwood to complete lead water testing as required by a newly enacted Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulation. The District previously conducted this testing last school year at Lincoln Hall and no lead was detected. To learn more about school testing requirements, please review this FAQ document.
Halloween Costumes Reminder
As we approach our annual Halloween celebrations, please remember that costumes should be non-violent (no weapons, weapon lookalikes, or gruesome images), functional (allowing for safe movement and clear visibility, with no masks), and appropriate for school.
Reminders
Absence Reporting in the PowerSchool Parent Portal
Parents and guardians are encouraged to continue reporting student absences through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Visit the District website to learn more about how to use the new feature and keep in mind these important points:
Absences must be reported by 8:59 a.m. on the day of the absence. If you miss this cutoff, please contact the school office.
If your child will be leaving early or arriving late during the day, such as for a dentist appointment, be sure to categorize the absence as a partial-day absence.
If your child is leaving early, please provide the exact time of pickup in the 'Explanation' field, and also contact the school office.
Please include any information relevant to your student’s absence in the explanation box. Front office staff can see detailed notes.
Halloween Classroom Party Volunteers - Sign-ups Close Oct.13
The District plans three classroom parties every year to celebrate Halloween (Oct. 30), Winter Break (Dec. 18), and Valentine's Day (Feb. 12) at Todd Hall and Rutledge Hall. Sign-up periods for each party will be as follows:
- Halloween - Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. through Oct. 13 at 11:59 p.m.
- Winter Break - Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. through Dec. 1 at 11:59 p.m.
- Valentine’s Day - Jan. 12 at 7 p.m. through Feb. 2 at 11:59 p.m.
At the end of each sign-up period, the District will create a schedule of coverage for every classroom at both schools, ensuring that those who express interest are assigned to at least one party during the year.
To indicate your interest in volunteering for a Halloween party, complete this form. The form will close on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at midnight.
