GMS Falcon Update

Congratulations to our Skilled Trades Competition team! The team of Cade Lensman, Layne Greer, Oscar Anderson, Morgan Vulgamore, Adelyn Guidera, and Lynzie Littlejohn competed today in Urbana at the Madison-Champaign County Educational Service Center and brought home some hardware to add to the trophy case, two student tool kits, and a 3-D printer sponsored by Parker Trutec. Top placers for GMS were Morgan Vulgamore in 1st and Adelyn Guidera in 3rd. Cade Lensman was our top placer for boys in 4th. When you added the best times of the team, combined, we also are fairly certain we would have won an overall team title as well. (That wasn’t a thing this year, but we feel confident anyway, and felt it was important to share!) Morgan Vulgamore was also the top competitor of the day, with the lowest overall time, completing the skilled trades course in just 1 minute 45 seconds, which is incredible.

The Skilled Trades Ninja Madness Competition is completed in collaboration with Ohio Hi-Point as well as the Champaign County Business & School Liaison. Champaign County schools are invited to each bring 6 students to participate. Students show proficiency in the following skills in the competition: Drill/driver, hammering, electrical circuit, use of welding gloves, nuts & bolts, measurement, and plumbing trap removal/ reassembly.

We want to thank Mrs. Peterson for her work with interested students during practice and competition qualifiers.

Our final round of Conferences is scheduled for Thursday, March 19th from 3:30-7:00pm. Please contact any of your student's teachers, or the office to set up a conference.

The Graham Middle School Student Council and National Junior Honor Society are co-sponsoring an "Empty Bowls" Project. This event will benefit the local food pantry. Community members have the opportunity to purchase a bowl, that you will keep, and during the event you can receive unlimited soup and salad, along with specialty breads and desserts.

Rock-a-Thon 2026 is in the books and this group of just 43 students raised $6,805 towards future trips, with one student bringing in over $500 himself! Students enjoyed time with their peers, prize drawings, board games, a dance party, and more! This was a great event for all! Huge shout-out to our staff here to make this possible: Mr. Wagner, Mr. Callison, Mr. Fuller, Ms. Webb, and Mrs. Herrera.

GYAA 2026 Baseball and Softball Registration is open until Saturday, March 7th. Online Registration is available and they will have a table at Pancake Day this Saturday as well.

8th grade girls interested in high school soccer, they are holding off-season training for girls soccer Monday - Thursday: 4:00-5:00pm in the High School Weight room.
